I'm normally really laid back when I play. I don't get angry when I lose but I'm still stoked when I win. But this game I just had with this terran on scrap station had me shouting in anger at my monitor.
Now the thing about me, is I'm paranoid. I always scout for proxies, cheese, whatever. In fact in the last few hundred games I can't think of a single actual cheese that I've lost to. I always send my second overlord to odd places, I scout in base with drones. On scrap station I always send a drone to that ridge south of your main where every protoss loves to stash a pylon, and about 15% of the time I find one.
And when I discover cheese, it's always an automatic win. So that's what this kid did, he built his first barracks on that ridge, my drone sees it at 85% and then he floats it away. So he's got one useless barracks floating across the map, another barracks barely up and no tech, meanwhile I've expanded and have a healthy economy. No problemo, it's happened before, let's finish this.
I get speedlings, I put up a lair. I'm about to put up a hydra den. Right about then a drop comes over on the edge of my base closest to his. Maybe 3 marauders, 5 marines out of a couple dropships. I really didn't count. Send my speedlings, he picks up and leaves with minor losses and gets no drone kills. Perfect.
Then he comes back with reinforcements, maybe a couple marines to replace the ones I killed in the first drop. Drops in the same spot on the edge of my minerals. I a move my zerglings again and go back to injecting. Once this drop is picked up I'll have hydras and then it is just a matter of macroing up an army and advancing on him.
Unfortunately this guy suddenly sacrificed a virgin to his dark god or perhaps he caught and threatened a leprechaun, I may never know which. I a-move my zerglings back up to clean this crap up and then go back to macroing. They all decided that the way to get to this group of marines and marauders is to go between the mineral patches. Unfortunately for them there is a fat marauder in between the two mineral patches they decided they needed to pass through.
So the first two zerglings start hitting the marauder and all the other 30 or 35 zerglings sit behind those zerglings waiting for a path to open up between the two mineral patches, instead of going around the extremely wide open spaces around the mineral patches. And they just sit there and take fire for like 10 or 15 seconds until I notice that there are still unwanted guests in my base killing drones.
Even then I can almost macro up an army to defeat what little he has left, but it's too late. He's destroying my lair and I don't have the troops to deal with it because they all sat there and died on me.
Then I raged. I called him a fucking newbie, which he was, and gged out. Then he had the nerve to swear at me and then block me before I could call his mother bovine, which she was.
I need to cool off. Once I get angry like this I can't play well. I went on to lose my next two games straight up because I just lose my ability to focus on what needs to be done.

I had a guy rage at me and ignore me STRAIGHT away the other day, it was actually one of the funnier things ive ever experienced.

He had the nerve to swear at you after you called him a fucking newbie? That's outrageous, I'm sure he learned his lesson though.
|
you raged and called him a fucking nooby then gg'd out? lol if you are swearing at the other guy there is no point in GGing
|
Nah it was over. I realize I come off as an asshole in this, and I was, but I couldn't help it.
I know you all have played a game, and just knew you were going to win. It was like that, where 2 minutes from now, it's over. It has to be. This guy has no recourse. There's no possible way he could beat me now. And then that stupid ai glitch just completely ruined everything. Within 10 seconds, a couple injects, a couple units being made, and then bam. I come back to find disaster.
I'm not proud of it, but there it is. At least I did gg

yeah what are you 12? Calling him a fucking newbie cause you can't control your units properly, oh the lolsss
|
guys chill, he's just venting some rage ^_^ it's human!
|
alas, we are not human, we are all sc gosu's and expect nothing less of everyone around us, rage is a petty emotion that we scorn and scoff at, we're better than that..right?

I laughed.
But on topic, we all have those games. It REALLY sucks losing to someone who you think your better than, believe me I know that feeling.
But rather than flaming and raging, just challenge him to a re. If he really was a noob and just won because of a fluke, don't get pissed, just play another game and prove you deserved to win.

Yeah Terrans make me rage everytime I play. Sometimes I rage even when I win against them because they lasted for so long from turtling.

Because macro is waaay more important...

Zergling AI definitely makes me rage. They get so stupid when it comes to chokes.

So it turns out micro actually makes a difference... Nerd rage is great.
