Angry rant time!

Today, FakeSteve was nice enough to give away 10 keys, 5 for the best haikus and 5 for winners of a picture contest (wheover has the most geek/nerd stuff). So, since I have a collection of roughly 220 comic books from the pre-1980 period, I figured I'd enter and try to get a key. So far so good, I gather up every collectible/geek memorabilia and pile them up on a table. I use my blackberry to take 2 pics and get back to my comp to hook it up and transfer them.

And this is what happens:

So, I figure, maybe if I install the Blackberry desktop manager, it'll install proper drivers. It was still odd though, as my BB is usually plug-n-play with most PCs... (Btw, I still haven't figured out the problem, if you've had similar, I'd love to hear a fix).

I install everything, but to no effect, the BB still won't connect... I decide that I should try and reboot. Baddd Call.

As the computer is shutting down, I notice this:

Nooooooooooooo! In the excitement of the beta contest, I forgot to save my Football Manager game, which I had put 3-4 hours in (w/o saving), so in a moment of panic, I tab back in before the reboot and hit the save key. Only, the progress bar doesn't seem to reach 100% by the time windows and FM shut down and my pc restarts.

Computer reboots, I open Football Manager back up to see if I managed to save my changes. As I try to load the game:

FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

WHATTTTTT?
At that point, I am a boiling pot of rage and panic. I have almost 2 full weeks of playtime of this game, it's the only one I've played in so far and I brought a team from England D7 (Northern Premiership) through to D3 (Coca-Cola L1)

But the beat doesn't end there. The Blackberry still won't connect, and now that I ruined months of FM2010, I might as well work on getting a SC2 key... WTF! So I end up e-mailing the pictures to myself, probably 4$ without a data plan (yes, yes, why do I have a BB without data plan? I know ... it's only temporary).

Finally get the two pics, they look alright but I clearly don't have the kind of money/stuff some of the other contestants have, as my collection pales in comparison to some of the posts in that thread (if you're a geek, theres alot to drool about in there LINK).

So I post my entry, F5 the thread for like 4 hours (rofl), winners announced. No reit

Have to admit the winners had nicer collections though.

that picture is so cute. someone should make a contest, and ppl have submit themselves posing like that image. :D winner gets a key!

well it was only football manager so no problem.

As for you reit, you had a bad luck.... REALLY bad luck... But you have learned something from it that's something you should appreciate. Besides we still have our good old BroodWar :D.
If another contest appears give it a try, sure, don't quit, but don't panic like you did and now... this is what happened. Tnx for sharing your story of how difficult and stressful getting a beta key can be. Good luck in future :D
