I've gotten an extra beta key, and have been trying to create an Asian Battle.net account so that I can play on that server. I've tried both Korea, South and Hong Kong - and both of them require me to do ID verification before I can add games to the account.
Selecting other non-Korean / non-Chinese Asian countries doesn't seem to switch the battle.net portal - but I could be wrong on this.
So - anyone have success making an Asian battle.net account who is not from China (and its territories) or Korea to play Starcraft 2 on those servers? If so, how did you do it?
Thanks!

Well - hoping this type of thing isn't against any TL.net rules as many top players do have accounts on 2-3 servers. Jumping servers was even used and needed in the EG vs Teamliquid team-war.
Mostly want to gain access to that server to see how bad lag is like, and if it is even possible to get on there before the game is officially released. It will determine if I buy two or three copies of the game (no point buying a 3rd key if one cannot get access to the Asian servers to play on there). Would suck to not be able to play in any Korean tournaments or against any Korean teams.

I created an account using a Japanese address and it worked with very little lag. I didn't play it much after the reset and for w/e reason sc2 beta is no longer attached to the account.

Were you on the Asian servers or the US servers, or are you unsure which server it had you on? Selecting Japan doesn't switch from http://us.battle.net to the asian portal - so just want to confirm.

Go to http://kr.battle.net just to be on the safe side. You can change the langue to English from there. The option is in the top right corner under your name.
I was definitely playing on the Asian server.

Thank you. Verified to work!
I wonder if one can create US battle.net account, log into it at http://kr.battle.net, add the SC2 game, and then have it linked to the Asian server as well? Possibly worth experimenting with in the future.

I am very interested in this as I only have one battle.net beta account (English, created in america) and am now in Korea (!) and want to play beta but can't and I can't read the login error message. wondering if there's a way to get around it...
