you can actually still enjoy lean red meat like top sirloin and what not. (lean=no fat)
chicken breasts aren't too bad when grilled. or you can try grilled mackerel which is tasty too.

Be warned that succeeding in personal challenges just makes it easier to justify the previous habits in the future.

Like when I stopped drinking for about a year. Now when I'm on beer number eight on a Wednesday night sitting in my ginch watching Idol I'm like, "whatever, I can stop drinking if I want." Then beer nine is cracked and a single tear slides down my cheek - a solemn representation of what could have been.

The article you linked to only tells half the story. The only danger is in eating too many carbohydrates that are going to break down and release a lot of glucose into the body quickly. There are plenty of forms of carbohydrates, such as wholemeal pastas and breads, oatmeal, lots of types of beans etc., that won't spike your insulin levels.

Also, different people have different dietary needs. Some people are better off having more carbs than protein, for others it's the other way around. It's a complex issue and the article is very misleading.

About the pasta, do you eat whole-wheat pasta? If I do it the other kind, I can eat as much as you can, but with whole wheat I can eat only about half.

I did something similar one day. I decided to drink nothing but water for 1 week (used to drink a lot of soda). I succeded and now I drink water every day + juice and tea. I haven't drank soda in about 7 months (only at a party once)

I'm soda-free as well. I don't know if this will help but my diet is with little carb consumption, mostly veggies and good portion of meat whenever I work out. Seems to work so far...

This is the best post in the entire thread.

I have to eat bacon and eggs in the morning cooked in butter and smothered with cheese every morning, drink heavy cream, and eat foods like ribeye and pork belly for health reasons.

Cultures that eat this natural human diet (ie. high satured fat, moderate protein, low carb) are free of things like allergies, colds, bowel issues, diabetes, cancer, etc.
Process is more important than the result
