- is probably a younger person with limited technical knowledge (they expect things to just work and should probably just get a console) - hasn't forwarded a single port for their game (or even the Steam Client for that matter) - is using a router provided by their ISP which typically means shit firmware and difficulty in making lasting configurations I know for a fact the combo modem/routers that Comcast hands out have no way of disabling DHCP and I'm constantly updating the destination IPs for forwards on my friend's network. Anyway, if more people RTFM a lot of issues would resolve themselves. PC gamers need to understand part of PC gaming is knowing how to use a computer; making sure all the hardware/software is in check. Xbox/PS3 users need to just set their console as a DMZ. Aside from the occasional hacker I love the game. I mostly play Ground War (12 - 18 Player TDM / Domination) with only occasional lag and the game seems pretty good at deciding who the best host is going to be or what player should become host in the event of lag/host dropping. | ||
