Welcome everyone to the third edition of "Disciple's Top 11". For the unfamiliar with the concept, this is where I list various things, without putting them in a particular order. Just the Top 11 of stuff I find interesting. You can check the other two editions here:

The theme of the current post will be
Top 11 terran players ever to play in the korean professional StarCraft scene
Professional StarCraft is in the zenith of its development. We are currently witnessing the peak of whats possible in this game and as we await for the coming of StarCraft 2, no one really knows what will happen to the game that pioneered the raise of the ESPORTS, but one things for sure - when SC:BW finally goes, some players will remain in the hearts of the fans forever. Here are the 11 terrans, I think will make it into the history books - some due to their pure skill and dominance, some because of their incredible story and personality.
Bonus: Terran All-Stars Wallpaper 1920x1080
UpMagic
This guy is a total enigma. His all time win-loss record tells only half the story. UpMagic's raw talent for this game is unbelievable, the sad lesson is that he was never able to channel all this potential and become the player he was meant to be. UpMagic will remain one of the most entertaining terran players - the underdog, that always managed to upset the big favorites.
Iris
Terran is a mechanical, defense orientated race. Some will even say its boring and dull. But The Berserker is something else. Iris is the most aggressive and relentless player ever to pick the terran race. His remarkable concept of how to play the game won him a legion of fans and even thou he never won a major starleague, as a player he will always remain one of the symbols of his race.
Sea
Sea is MBC. He is the team spirit of the professional starcraft, and in my honest opinion, Sea is the one player that symbolizes Proleague. Its really sad to see him not being able to perform to his potential in the individual starleagues, but this actually became a defining feature of his progaming career. Teamliquid loves you, 염보성 ! Go win the WL for your team
iloveoov
oov is the most dominant figure in the professional StarCraft - he was the one that made watching the game uninteresting - the only question during his prime was, who is going to be raped next. But besides his remarkable performance, iloveoov will be remembered because of his incredible personality as well. Cocky and ignorant, he gave one of the best interviews both as a player and a coach.
Casy
Casy is my favorite terran player and I think he is the most charismatic player in general. The neo-emperors tvz bionic control is the best ever, his tvt style is dynamic and entertaining. And then we come to the infamous casy's tvp - its hopeless. But so what? Casy's weakness completed his remarkable progaming profile and his starleague run established him as the Cinderella of the scene.
Boxer
Enough has been said about Lim Yo Hwan and his enormous contributions to the ESPORTS scene. One things sure - if it wasnt Boxer, I was not going to list the top 11 korean terrans at the moment and TL most likely wouldnt even exist.
Flash
With Flash I think we reached the peak of the evolution. As the biggest Bisu fan in TL I have no problem calling Flash with the b-word, I think he is the last truly dominant player in StarCraft and I'm sorry jaedong fans, but Flash right now is a far better player than Jaedong ever was and most likely will ever be.
NaDa
Enough has been said about NaDa as well. He is Mr. StarCraft. I really hope the Genius Terran wins one last starleague to wrap up StarCraft 1. But if he doesnt, I will pray hard for him to remain alone on the top of the charts with his 6 badges.
Xellos
This guy is called the Perfect Terran for a reason. He is the symbol of terran and his playing style underlines the strengths of his race. Xellos revolutionized TvT and his trademark (-_-) face set the pattern for all CJ players.
ForGG
If there is something like bonjwa for a month, ForGG must be it. Unlike all other one league winners like Mind or GGplay, by the time ForGG won his only title, he looked absolutely unbeatable. The Pretender has easily the most amazing starleague run ever. The fact that he completely demolished the two best players in the world, Jaedong and Flash, won him a meme status in korea. Make no mistake, if ForGG manages to comeback and win another starleague he will accumulate more fans than Stork, Bisu, Jaedong and Flash combined.
firebathero
If all progamers were like FBH, the whole scene would've looked like a sad parody of WWE. Happily thou we have only firebathero. Love him or hate him, he is one of the best things to happen to the korean starcraft scene and without him the world was never going to be the same.
This was my Top 11 terran players ever to play in the korean professional StarCraft scene. I hope you enjoyed my write-up and feel free to discuss anything about it. I think some ppl might be disappointed that Leta, Hwasin, Midas and fantasy found no place on my list, but this how I see things

Great write up. ForGG definitely is bonjwa for a month. I can't say I was around long enough to experience Xellos or Casy, but I remember the rest, and boy, was it good.

made me chuckle. great article, thanks for sharing! 5/5.

It's not called "the 11 strongest terrans who are still playing today" for a reason.
|
I'd like to point out that Mind and Sync have actually won starleagues while some people on this list have never made it past the round of 8. But whatever, I guess its not my list.

Upmagic was never better than Fantasy in the Incruit to Batoo era where he was raping the shit out of everyone and was undoubtedly the best Terran.
Is upmagic more creative? Yes.
But Fantasy revolutionized TvP and TvZ for a while there and controlled the metagame. Almost winning 2 SL vs some of the best vTers(JD in bo5s at least is the best ZvTer after Savior, and if you exclude ForGG he has a 100% winrate in BO5s vs Terrans) and Stork who is the best PvT player ever, he took them to game 5 and almost took it home. Anyways, what am I rambling about, Fantasy will take a league home this season, just wait and see.

Fantasy is actually better than some of the players on that list, although he does play like total crap sometimes.
|
I <3 Iris. He was my first ever pro-terran I ever witnessed. Iris Nal_Ra and Savior = responsible for my addiction to SC.
|
Midas
|
I'm disappointed that there is no Canata. Yes, he was not a great Terran, and that he is considered a failure to carry on the SKT Terran Lineage, but I would've liked to see him on the list.
Survivor King fighting!

if anything i'd replace any 3 of those with skyhigh. he was the hero in the reverse all-kill, consistently good, and provides lots of interesting games. i love his cheeses and defense against cheese
Iris >>> skyhigh no question. Skyhigh has achieved literally nothing besides 1 reverse all kill where JD gave him the first game and the rest were against absolute scrubs. Skyhigh is consistently underwhelming (a non entity in starleagues and frequents many an anti team in fpl). Light has already achieved more. Fantasy for upmagic and midas for forgg and it's a good list imo.

Good post OP. It is kind of amazing how slim the pickings are, that you need to pad a bit to reach 11.

Awesome article! Although it's a shame you have bad sentiments towards flash -_-

Already lol? Light was top 6-8 Terran since Shinhan 2 who reached the ro8 many times. Comparing Skyhigh to Light is a complete joke.

well if you ignore the four obvious picks on the list - nada oov boxer and flash, you are left with seven other terrans which became famous, loved or simply good at this game for a completely different reasons. I though UpMagic is a better example of the wild and untamed nature of the terran race than fantasy. Yes, Midas was crazy good a couple of years ago and he is still really cute and likable, but I wont pick him over ForGG, fbh and especially Casy. Their careers are just so extraordinary in some way

fantasy had people going Mech for an entire season, his recent "denchanic" build was copied by none other than FLASH against Kwanro, and he should have had 3 OSL finals in a row, if the seeding was better he could have destroyed Yarnc or type-b in Bacchus and faced Jaedong in the finals. He didn't invent Vulture micro, but he showed how effective it can be, winning entire games on Vulture micro alone. fOrGG faded into obscurity after his MSL win just like Mind, who's not on the list and arguably had an equal SL run (savior and bisu in 2007), while fantasy is relevant a year and a half after he terrorized his first league.
Besides the Bonjwas, my list would be:
Flash, Sea, Casy, XellOs, Light, Hwasin, FBH, fantasy, Iris
That comes to 12 but all deserving.
