Ok so the last two koreans I have played that have both asked me their rank have lied about theirs.
They say max rank, I say B-. One Said A- and I checked his profile later and he was B-. Other said he was A+ and that his aka was dara21 and that he was a korean gosu but I checked that account and it was OLYMPIC.
This game his first zeal killed 2 of my marines and he tried some kind of 1 gate expo robo and my FD still took him out.
Something tells me he is not dara21-_-
Combine this with the fact that a LOT of foreigners will lie about their rank or just straight up leave if you are anything better than C- means I am just going to fucking lie about my rank and say I am C- which is such a fucking lame thing to do.

Lying about your rank not only gives you security but also assurance that even if you lose you won't have to worry about having to get embarrassed by losing to someone who is badder than you. That's the biggest psychological factor.

They always smurf alot as well.
So many high C, B players constantly resetting their stats to noob stomp.

For some reason they like to stomp noobs and then get delight from it any way possible by gloating or w/e.
Maybe in their way to reach top ranks in Iccup they've goten their asses served and now when they became any good they want to stomp noobs to retaliate.

They're obviously just joking around, they have no obligation to answer a random person's questions correctly so why not toy with them just for laughs. I mean it's not like you lose anything for pretending to be a higher rank than you are, but the other guy might be intimidated.

I've had people at D level rage at me (this is at start of season btw so everyone was on D) because I got C- last season and I play at D lol.

Whenever someone asks me a common, silly question I either lie one way or the other and say d- or A- or something just to see how they react

Well i just can speak for myself:
Im a B rank protoss and I lie when im starting laddering on D-C and people ask me.
I usually say +1 of my current rank.
Reason for this is the fact that 30% leave on D-C when they know im B......pisses me off.

I never leave when I am facing higher rank players. I ran into two B- players ZvZ at the D rank and got my shit stomped. I liked it because it showed me how good players would abuse the build I was doing.

Koreans lie because they dont want to scare you ^^
We all know that some ppl ask the rank and if they say good rank they leave so is probably that the main reason for the lies

Most koreans I run into lower their rank, although its probably accurate in keeping with the general hours they play. Koreans who blatantly lie are just smurfing.
Also, I've run into 2 Koreans who thought "noob" meant pro. I joined a 1v1 python "noob" game and he turned out to be some gosu, and when I told him to piss of he genuinely thought it meant pro and gave me the free win lol.
For your theory maybe the korean just knows that a B- v other koreans is an A- v normal people?
