Hey guys, my mouse (logitech v450) won't stop double clicking. i'm pretty sure it's not a hardware issue (its clean and there's no sound of it getting stuck), but when i put it into another computer, it does the same thing. is it possible that the software configuration inside the mouse itself is corrupted? or is it simply a broken button?
second question, i bought the original mouse on dec 2008. last dec (2009) i returned the mouse cuz it was having problems, so they let me replace it with the one i currently have (because of one year manufacturer warranty). does the manufacturer warranty renew itself because it's a new product? cuz honestly, the shit broke after 3 months this time, wtf...
damn sc xD

I don't know the specific rules in Canada, but in Norway, if a product is repaired/replaced due to malfunction, it will include a three month warranty on the replacement product. This applies even if the warranty runs out the day the same day you return it. Like I said, I don't know the specific rules in Canada, but it's definitely worth looking into. I think you need to replace your mouse no matter what, though.

Why change the mouse when you can change your gameplay?
In fact, it could even be an advantage.
1) At the start, instead of having to drag a box around everyone, you can just click on one of the workers and that will automatically select them all because your mouse is double clicking! This has the added benefit of NEVER accidentally boxing your overlord with your drones at the start, meaning that your overlord won't dilly dally for a second in the wrong direction at the start, allowing you to seize a critical advantage in the game.
2) When you're playing pvz or pv anything for that matter, you can send stream after stream of units a-moving into the enemy base pretty easily by just clicking one of them and a moving on the minimap, since your mouse automatically double clicks
3) When you're playing tv anything, you can easily select 12 tanks and put em in siege mode by just clicking one of them and hitting o, since your mouse will auto double click.
4) Double click - use it to your advantage!

The doubleclicking is due to the microswitch sticking. You can try taking the mouse apart and applying some kind of lubricant to it. WD40 or contact cleaner (for your eyes) works in most cases, try to click a few times after you apply it so it sinks in. The micro switch is usually a very small black box with a button sticking out of it, when you push down on the mouse, its pushing down on the micro switch.
If that doesn't work, its broken and probably not worth trying to replace the switch yourself. Also, opening your mouse voids your warranty, do so at your own risk.

I had a problem with my logitech mouse as well. It was a G5 but it died pretty fuckin fast, within the first 3 months. Usually they are pretty good with replacing it, i just haven't got around to doing it yet.
It was my laser that stopped working though, so a bit different.

This tends to happen with most mouses. You're gonna have to get a new one.

It does sound like an internal mouse issue (I had a mouse that wouldn't click if I didn't have my finger on a sweetspot for it). You're going to need to take it apart to maintain or get another mouse =T.
