hey guys, so I need some advice. I want to buy a new (preferably wireless) keyboard and mouse, but I dont want to spend too much money on it.
Could you please give some advice on some dependable products that arent too overpriced? im not looking for anything like the razer mouses that are specifically for gaming and cost like hundreds of $, just something dependable that will last a while

IMO, dont get wireless, but do go cheap. No point in spending an extra 100 dollars for a cool-looking keyboard/mouse when something cheap works just as well.

Most progamers use qsenn keyboards, but that is most likely just because it's a Korean company. They are pretty inexpensive compared to other high quality keyboards, so if I were to buy another keyboard it would probably be that. Mice it's generally pretty much up to the person. I hear lots of good reviews on razor mice. Most of them look badass too MX518 is too big for SC imo. I bought one last year to replace my intellimouse 3.0. God I loved that thing, but I went through 3 of them. Their mouse feet would fall off constantly too -.-

Man, I've used a Logitech G5 mouse for years and I love it. As for keyboard, I've never really had any issues with using a cheap ass $15 keyboard as long as the keys feel alright.

I use the Sidewinder keyboard, I would recommend it (not wireless though). The numpad even attaches/detaches to either end. Pretty useless for me but I love the look of it. The whole thing lights up and has a very Darth Vader theme.

For mice, I am still trying to find my perfect mouse. Been through 4 different ones in the last 6 months lol, still not satisfied with any one. Journey continues.

this...I've using my g5 for almost 4 years and it still works like champ...and i use generic cheap keyboard...I don't think keyboard makes much difference in gaming.. at least for SC...I actually prefer cheap keyboard with tall keys since it is easy to identify which keys to push without looking at it and gives feeling that I'm actually pushing a button...

Salmosa is great unless you happen to get one that makes those ugly noises. For the price an awesome mouse.

I don't think that the LMO is a good choice anymore with SC2 on the way. You most likely aren't going to play SC2 @ 640x480, and the LMO has such low dpi that it isn't very useful for higher resolutions. At least I personally wouldn't use my LMO for anything higher than 640x480.
If you have a good reason to disagree with the above, please tell me. Thank you.

I have a razer lycosa keyboard and really like it. It's somewhat expensive for such a simple keyboard but I like it very much. Keys are just soft enough and it looks cool too.

The other keyboards I was looking at during the time of my purchase were the saiteks. The older models are around 40 with the newer ones reaching about 70 or so.
Saitek Keyboards
Model is decent and overall keyboard layout is simple.

As for mice looking for a cheap razer seems like the way to go.
Salmosa is pretty cheap and decent.

maybe look around woot.com for any special deals they have.
Past deal sold salmosa at 14 bucks!

I hear you man, it's ridiculous to be spending so much on things that offer no real additional benefit.

I mean, this is what I used to use

but really that was just wasteful fancy. There's no reason anyone should use anything but this:

Sure, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it gets the job done (eventually).

For budget mice those are both really good. Next step up would be a razer krait or salmosa

Keyboard
I use a dell multimedia keyboard, but if you get a wireless keyboard i'd wait for the logitech dinovo notebook edition to go on sale.
