So well i was having a bad day on iCCup and so i decide to bash bunches of noobs on US East. then comes along this guy named KoRea_Terran. and well.... he is Korean. he says hes B and his name is Kim Tek Young. if that rings a bell to nayone just tell me.
Well....anyway. earlier this week i actually got over my fear of Koreans on iccup because i felt at the same level of play as some of them. Well....i think i discovered a new world.
Is it just me or are Koreans just good at this game cause to them it is a real sport. I mean to me Starcraft for life. It is a sport to me, but are they "better" because it is real sport there?

well kim taek yong is bisu. and this guy probably wasn't bisu.

B+ smurfes are also on East. Damn...

I don't know how you people can even play on Blizzard servers, not having lan latency makes me want to throw the computer out the window. Also, East is full of D+ newbies, koreans mostly hang out on West.
|
Stupid koreans, I keep losing games on D lvl because I never seem to play people from other countries T_T

That's a way to put it I guess, having them being exposed to it as a sport generally leads to more people playing, which leads to higher general level. Let's take baseball for example - a lot of Americans play it in their free time because it's a popular sport, and while they're not super good players, they're still better than me. I don't even know most of the rules, etc.
However, I feel the level is somewhat equal around the A- ranks, judging by TSL qualifiers performance. It then gets raised again, but above that rank you're likely playing progamers, so the analogy gets stretched thin a bit.

Mmmmm delicious "i got raped by Bisu/Jaedong/Flash's smurf"-blogs <3

At least have the decency to spell your own "name" correctly.
playing w/o LAN latency adds a different twist. It forces you to rely on smaller "cute" details of the game (muta micro T_T).

Actually I think a random korean posts on this forum you can ask him.

They're better because they put more time into it than anyone else. Which eventually lead it to become a sport and everything.

He's probably friends with the dude who beat him too.

I guess regular ICCUP games aren't a challenge enough for Koreans - instead they find it more challenging to pit themselves against players with map hacks, bots, and huge egos.

This is why Bisu is slumping- too much time messing around on East.
|
There are a number of decent players on East and most are Korean.
|
They are better because they have more resources available to them.

Who the fuck relies on micro in laggy ass latency? Way to have a shitty post leejas. Usually i won't hit the post button for something like this but you giving heat for him subtituting a 1 for an L then posting nonsense makes me want to say f u.
Non lan lat makes micro pretty worthless and rewards a macro player who can produce the most units and put them into a defensive position. Attacking is retarded ugly on non-lan.
