Just use the bill. its worthless to wait for the value of that bill to increase. the discounted value of that bill is the same 10 or 100 years from now. now unless you have a $2 bill with Thomas Jefferson's complete list of all the black slaves he fucked and a family tree of his offspring, then any bills you have are nothing special.

Thanks for all the insight ilovezil, yea I didn't think the note was worth much even though it is in such good condition. The thing is I just wanna put it in the right hands since I'm not really in a position to save/collect it.

I actually used to owned both a red and blue 2 dollar bill when I was a kid, but I stupidly spent them on something (I don't even remember what it was). One of them was in pretty shoddy condition iirc so oh well.

My dad also had a pretty good penny collection starting from 1909/Lincoln, and I continued it off from about 1960ish where he left off. Until some tweaker 'friend' stole it. I had/have a bunch of mercury head silver dimes somewhere along with different buffalo nickels as well.
I either lost them in a move/trapped in a box somewhere , or that same tweaker idiot stole those too. They were in pretty good cond. The only thing bad was the childhood friend I traded them off at school had taped them up with scotch tape and kept them that way for a long time (years probably) and they were a bit yellowed.

Do you want this bill I have? I'd hate to just pass it off like regular money since I need to use it.

Ah, sucks about the penny collection since they tend to be one of the classics

I'm starting a mercury collection as well. I also have a few older specimens of dimes like the 1848 half dime and a few later ones. I would be interested in your bill too, but I'm broke so my hands are tied :/

If you want any input or advice on older currency though, just ask me. I consider myself decently knowledgeable in this area since I had an obsession with numismatics for a while. If anything, I have a pretty good idea of where to find specific sources of information.

I also had/have (somewhere) a bunch of old foreign coins as well.

I remember I had this asian coin with a square cut into the middle.
