LuckyFool's blog? This one is actually somewhat important, lol - the main reason you go arb energy first in PvT, because you get your first stasis 12 seconds faster (iirc it gets 100 energy right when stasis finishes, but I don't play P).

So one would start the energy upgrade, then start building the first arbiter, and then research stasis as soon as the energy upgrade is complete?

Yep Mar Sara is blue and Alpha Squadron is white... Can't remember any of the others, except Ara Tribe = red toss and Kel-Morian Combine = teal Terran.

The SC manual lists most of the colour names and even has lore for some of them. Of course that doesn't include the BW changes.

Actually, I absolutely love manuals for Blizzard games. Unlike other manuals, they are a worthwhile read due to the wealth of lore information contained in them.
Anyway, you can get it online. At least the original StarCraft one. I have still not managed to find a Brood War one that contains lore information. =/
