The new iCCup feature has stopped people asking "from?" every single fucking time they join. It makes playing on iCCup so more pleasant! :D

Don't worry the fast +1 will be more than enough to hold them off.

I never understood why they did that, but it's good that they stopped.

How is bull-dog cheese?

Koreans are easy to predict and play against because you can be sure you're playing against whatever is popular in progaming at the moment.

Everyone else is the same, except that they do it really badly because they don't remember everything they saw or they will be trying to copy a really outdated build that doesn't work at all on the map they're playing/current meta-game.

To be perfectly honest when I ladder on wc3 I never say gg if I lose... I only say it if I am about to win and I want the dude to quit... I don't see too much point to be polite to an online-stranger I encountered over a game...

However, I never use profanity to anyone and I gg politely when playing against my friends,.

I'm Venezuelan and I play on a Hamachi-like kind of server, which is filled with 90% Peruvians and 10% Chileans and I have to admit that (being a South American myself) that they indeed lag a lot, are all Zerg players, and ling all-in you every game.

I'm sad about our reputation

its a viable build that works on better players because it seems like they're min hacking and already have turrets up when opponent's ol gets to t's base.

I think what you should do is make a list of every game you play, rating your opponents on things like cheese/bm/etc. You can then make spreadsheets to statistically compare this data and determine empirically whether or not the stereotypes are deserved! You'll have to play a lot of games, though

No because most of the posters are bad players and will call anything that beats them cheese, anyone who beats them a faggot, and any micro mistake something due to lag.

USA/Canada- Usually a standard game, a healthy bit of cheese, proxy, and all-ins sometimes.
Europe- Very friendly, especially in UMS games. Play varies, because I don't like listing twenty more countries. I count Australia in this too.
Hispanic(Peru, Chile, Mexico...)- I expect DT, 1base Lurker, and BBS most of the time, and also BM at the end when they call me a noob. Some are really nice, though. Doesn't seem to be an in-between.
China- I do expect lag, and I also feel cool, because I'm chinese too. I've seen alot of agressive play.
Korea- On two player maps, I expect some sort of cheese. I'm not scared of them, but I realize that I need to play my best or I might get embarrassed.

Russia: )) smiley
US: cocky bm
Europe: hmm can't make any stereotype.
Kor: cldsgfdg23dfg123fd1g32 ??!!???
China: lag

I can't make any stereotype gameplay wise. Some Peruvians play standard too.

I would say that at lower levels 50% of the players are protoss; 30% are zerg and 20% terran. As for the more skilled guys (especially Koreans) they always seem to pick "the easier race" e.g. I pick zerg - they pick terran; I pick protoss - they pick zerg; me terran - he protoss. It gets really irritating if you dont want to play ZvT and arent too good TvP. In addition noone wants to play TvT and when I finally play vs someone who doesnt pick other race/leave game it turns out that he is a really good player who resetted his statistics. Well, it's nice to play vs better opponents, because this way you can improve, but usually TvT players can own me incredibly :-)

Peruvians used to be one of the most BM players I have ever met, but to be honest I dont really care, because I am BM too. They will just call me a "puta" or w/e and maybe flame few times and leave. Americans/Canadians are much worse, because they often get e-rage problems and keep msging me for 10 minutes, even when I am in another game. I think the fact that they flame for so long is a result from the fact that they speak English well and know more insults?

Very few people notice that ICCUP is not only a "high-skill" server; but also a typical pirated game server used by noob Russians. A lot of those poor D- guys play there because they cant join (no legit cd-key), or experience lag at battle.net. I feel sorry for them, because everyone is owning them so hard + they get flamed constantly. Yet a lot of them dont leave the game fast and keep trying to come back, even when you take 3/4 of the map TvP and start going nukes. Most players will flame you + leave when they see that you are building nukes; those guys just enjoy the game even when they lose.

A lot of Koreans suck; they have gigantic apm but any non standard play makes them really uncomfortable and they dont know how to react at all. Ive also noticed that they usually talk a bit in English, and when they start losing they keep talking in Korean (I assume those are flames).
Personally I have never met a Korean who could speak English at decent level if he wasnt studying in USA; maybe I always play vs some 10 year old kids, but even Peruvians seem to have better English. When speaking of language problems - French never ever speak English; dunno why.

Taiwanese/Chinese players usually lag and drophack, if you allow them not to use anti-hack. Maybe I just got unlucky, recently even some 50-5 Taiwanese guy managed to drophack me somehow; it's not that I show off by saying that I defeated him, but more that I think that he abused those stats and noone really bothered to complain about him. In addition the "number of complaints" field on iccup doesnt seem to work I think, thus this guy wasnt penalized.

As for game style:
Koreans play very aggressive, usually they focus on micro and have pretty low economy; yet they often try to squeeze an expansion early.
Americans seem to love hydras ZvP; it's less popular than few years ago, but still happens often.
Every German player plays Protoss and goes FE :D
~30% play cheesy all-innish strats; and 5% try really creative and weird builds (some guy went mech-tank rush vs me on colo TvZ).

They usually refuse to play vs random too.
But I dont think it's a national trait; a lot of players (30%?) dodge random..
