I have found a different use for the alarm lights that I got. I tried piping the light through transparent blocks but it doesn't travel far. So instead of thinking of something intricate, I built a simple head with blinking eyes and mouth. .. and it speaks siren but ignore that.

I was looking for a method to activate the lights together. Right now, the lights' buttons need to be pressed directly. A single trigger would be an improvement. Pointy things are in short supply in duplo land. And even if I had the right pointy things, I would have to find a way to make it rotate or slide against the buttons with precise guidance. Mission impossible, hence aborted. And yeah, this isn't as flashy looking as the previous 'spinning top' I made, but it was 'scary but fun' for the little ones.
Another idea I had was to put some infrastructure down for the two cars that came with the alarm lights. They're big though and it takes time and a large amount of blocks to accommodate them. Both of which I didn't have enough of at the time. As long as there is some variety though the kids' imagination will pick up the pieces.

Last time people were wondering what duplo is. Lego you all seem to know. Duplo is the toddler variety of them. Lego will connect with duplo so in the future when the youngest hits 4 I can expand this hobby into more advanced realms. If anyone wants to contribute ideas or own creations, be my guest!
