So i've been gathering FPVODs from all over TL of protoss players with commentary/instructions, and I made a channel where I planned to upload them and sort them into playlists for easy viewing, but I cant upload videos longer then 10 minutes. I'm loathe to break these up since some are 30 minutes long, and I think it'd be easier for everyone if they're all in one piece. Google told me to change my account to 'Director' from 'youtuber' which I did, but I still cant upload longer videos. Anyone know how to bypass this?

You can't bypass it unless you have an account from when they allowed uploads that big.

Oh, alright, thanks for the quick reply

I honestly have no idea, but I remember hearing something that you can't no longer make accounts that can upload long videos.

Anyone know a sight like youtube where I can upload longer videos and sort them into playlists?

An account on Youtube that would allow you to upload videos longer than 10 minutes would be an incredibly valuable thing. There are two types of users who can upload vids longer than 10 minutes:
- Corporate Partners (you have to pay to be this obviously) - People who did something complicated around 2006 to become a "director"
It is impossible to upload a video over 10 minutes long at this point from a new account unless you are a big corporation.

You could always try vimeo, they don't have the limit. Problem is that its not as popular as youtube, but if TL is your target audience, then just make a post on here once you've done it.
And there is another way of uploading longer than 10 minutes, it just takes alot of effort. You need to become a youtube partner, which includes uploading content regularly, with lots of popularity. Once you've done that for a while apply to become a partner, and if you succeed. Youtube will be allowed to place ads in your videos for the right to upload whatever length you want, as well as part of the profits.

Google video still allows long videos I believe if you're willing to use that.

Do Vimeo or Google Video allow you to setup playlists?

As far as I know Vimeo does not allow video game content though, so you are out of luck. Google video has horrible quality.
And yeah, Youtube generally doesn't allow you to upload longer than 10 minutes. There are a number of exceptions, but unfortunately none will apply to you I am afraid.

Gay Guess I'm just gonna upload the pack then

Youtube play-list went down hill when they made it only assessable though the channels.

It is impossible to upload a video over 10 minutes long at this point from a new account unless you are a big corporation. It wasn't too complicated. You just had to write them a few paragraphs about how you make your own videos, and make it sound believable. Like what software you use, and what audience its suppose to attract. I had a failsafe speech and I used it a few times just changing the phrasing :-) Helped quite a few people get approved directors back then, and made 2 for myself (jon747 and violetak). If I'd have known they'd stop it like that I'd make a lot more for future use... There was a period of time when Klaz asked his fans to email youtube in hopes of turning his account to full director, and I'd say many people did so. But it didn't help. So if a 12,000 subscriber account doesn't even get close to being noticed, I'd agree its almost impossible to get a proper director account these days, unless you let money do your talking.

If I pm you the link to the pack im currently in the process of compiling, do you think you could add it to one of your accounts and sort it into playlists? I'll sort it into different folders, zip the folders up and send em over to you so you wont have to actually do any of the sorting really

technically I think it's 10:59, but you say 11 :D
but it's a bummer. If I had a director's acc, I'd let you borrow it.
