computer troubles

my computer restarts (memory dump / system failure) etc whenever i try to load the game oblivion. i unchecked the auto restart and it comes up with a blue screen, mentioning attkdisp.dll or something (doesnt really give me much info)

this is odd considering i just reinstalled it and i used to play it on this comp all the time and i NEVER had this problem. i've tried reinstalling but i can't get it to stop restarting.

I haven't updated or done anything afaik to my computer since last time i was playing it. what could be the cause of this? i can find more info if need be.

also, my comp is rather old, how expensive/difficult is it to build my own computer from parts bought? i have 0 computer knowledge

This error is either indicative of overheating or a driver error. What is your graphics card? Other system specs? Etc?

Also, building a computer is really, really easy online and much cheaper than doing it through a store. Drop me a PM if you want more information about it.

i have a geforce 7300, and it didnt have any troubles last time i played the game (although i had to run low-medium settings)

other specs:

2G ram
2x 2.00 ghz
~200gigs of free space

Is that a 7300gt, gs, or le?

It seems like you could be overheating. Is the card passive cooler (does it have a big heatsink) or active cooler (does it have a fan?)
