The final (pre-GPS) solution was finally obtained when John Harrison developed the first timepieces that could keep accurate time at sea for months at a time. We also discovered a plethora of scientific information in the meantime, such has how gravity works, the orbit of the moon, the speed of light, yadda yadda yadda.
Anyway, I need to write a page about how this search for answers has affected me personally... so like there's a bimetal strip in my thermostat (invented by Harrison) and my astronomy almanac tells me when the best lunar eclipses are, but I'm having a hard time coming up with a well-written page of how these discoveries have practical influences on me. My brain is also fried because I was up till 2am writing other papers. Help me out!
