Anticipating that the days of free agents/mercenaries in the CSL+ are numbered, I'd like to put out the call to any students attending Mercer County Community College in New Jersey to please PM me if you are interested in playing in the Collegiate Starcraft League this coming Spring.
Playing as a "free agent" on Princeton's CSL team has reminded me how great team sports are and how much I have missed them in recent years. I'd love to recreate the excitement and camaraderie over here at MCCC, and I'm thrilled at the thought of leading a group of young men(and women!) into battle.
Please, don't worry about being "not good enough" to play. I'm simply looking for people who are motivated to improve and want the opportunity to train and compete together with a group. StarCraft is an intensely hard game to learn, but having teammates makes it much easier and enjoyable.
I'll be exploring various avenues of reaching out to you folks on campus. And probably utilizing Facebook and other insidious means... bwahaha. =]
To anyone reading this: if you know anyone at MCCC, please don't hesitate to send the word on. You have my thanks.

Yeah, I'll miss all of you, too. <3 <3 <3. But hey, business is business. As I mentioned in that crazy "Free Agent" thread, I think it'll be a good move for the future of the league.
Let's just hope that myself and the other mercs will be able to find enough players to field new teams when we are removed from the CSL+.

Let's have a team made up of only mercs!

Seeing as most merc players tend to be C- to C+ or so, an all-merc team would be better than a lot of teams in the CSL+. I think there'd be a lot of unrest if such a team were to make playoffs (or even further!).

Finding players will be a challenge, but hopefully I can at least find 3 D-s to whip into shape =]. Else I'll do my best to stay involved in CSL+. If dsh needs help with the website, I'll see if I can do anything there, otherwise I'll work on my casting (I did a noob commentary with [CSL]DarthThienAn on Tufts/McGill. Hopefully future attempts will be better than that >< ).

However, I don't know how many credits you need to be taking. Hypothetically, and I say this publicly so that I'm not hiding anything from the CSL+ admins, you could take a class or two at MCCC to become an official student, including student ID and email.
But doing so just smells really fishy, you know? If the league is going to expunge mercenary/free agent players, will they smile or frown upon part-time students? I think that ordinary part-time students should certainly be allowed to play, but in a situation like this, where we would be potentially abusing a loophole in the rules, it's really hard to say.
I'll speak with the league admins and see what their stance is on situations like this. Nothing has been said on it so far, and it's tricky to codify since it's a gray area.
I find it amusing how we're finding ourselves dealing with so many icky issues like this. T_T. The growing pains of the CSL+!
