After watching The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift I've been inspired to learn to drift because it looks so badass. Ideally I'd like to be able to drift through street corners when there's no pedestrians around and even more ideally I think it would be cool to drift spin into a parking space.
Obviously this isn't something so you should just "google" to figure out how to do, but is this site a good place to begin?
lmao isn't a murano an suv? don't try to drift in an suv, much less learn in one. you need a cheap rwd (preferably a manual) car, 240sx's are the most popular and have been for a long while. the biggest issue during the learning process is when you are exiting the drift, the biteback on going from countersteer to straight ahead is hard to get used to. easiest way to learn is in the rain, just blip the gas while turning into a corner at barely over the speed limit and try to balance the rear end coming out.
edit: i suggest you watch the dubbed version of a dvd called the drift bible if you really want to learn in more detail about drifting. it covers beginner to intermediate drifting techniques.

I have no clue what you mostly just said (don't know anything about cars), but I can't afford a new car just to drift.
you don't need a new car, you need an old rear wheel drive car. nissan 240sx is a rear wheel drive car that are very easy to find and for decent prices, probably around $1800. trust me don't try to learn in your suv.
LOL - I just love the drawings!! So much detail and thought, it is clear to me young Jedi that all you need next is to just go out drifting. In the Murano. The Force is strong in you!
U can buy some (fairly expensive) drifting tires that are really just super slippery if u wanna look cool... U cant drift an suv btw....ull need rear wheel drive too.. and if u do somehow end up drifting at all ull burn through tires pretty fast.

Haha this, don't tell him though XD Then we won't get the q.q blog that follows!
Yeah, that is one of my farourite movies and I would love to drift whenever i have time. You need a rwd car, like people said earlier you can't use an SUV. Also, depending on how much you want to drift you will either just get a crap car to beat up or dedicate yourself to it and get a nice car with drifting tires, which are expensive, and also get special chips for your engine to help you drift better. All depending on how dedicated you want to be to drifting.
a nissan murano is the last thing you want to be drifting in. You'll probably flip it trying to get the tires to even spin much.
I used to do lots of auto crossing my high school years and its a hell of a hobby but of course it involves lots of money as well. If i remember correctly my suspension alone ran me $1800(not including installation which I had friends to help me) and one time I ended up having a bad day and fucking up one of the springs which lead to another $500 for a spring and shock and tire.
I believe out of 2 years I went thru about another 2-3k worth on tires alone. God It was fun but I shoulda probably invested my money elsewhere.
I started off with a 1991 mazda rx7(which already had suspension work done to it) but then moved on to a 1991 toyota mr2(which had all the money i spoke of invested in) after I realized how much of a pain in the ass the rotary motor on the rx7 is. After finally buying a 1998 chevy camaro z28 I had to stray away from auto crossing b/c of how expensive suspension parts and tires were for the z28 during that time (02-03).
Now that I think of it, I had worked so hard to have all these things to make me drift well and corner well and I have nothing to show for it now.....TT
Drifting is awesome. In the winter when the roads, and in particular the big parking lots are covered in snow I like to take out my car and have some fun. Sliding sideways for a few seconds and then whipping out of it is so much fun.
I don't think its possible to correctly drift in a murano... its like skating with garbage bags taped to your feet. Sure you'll slide around and perhaps fall over... but I'm not sure its called "skating".
people who want to drift because of the movie "Tokyo Drift" are complete dbags. that movie was absolutely terrible, and the amount of kids that were trying to drift on the street after that movie was just a sad sight to see.

I actually liked the movie. I went in with low expectations and that's what I got. I wasn't expecting Shawshank Redemption quality, I was expecting decent racing scenes and it had plenty.
don't do this on the streets like a retard please. you'll probably end up killing someone. and in a Murano, are you kidding?

Autocross has nothing to do with drifting... Cornering well yes but drifting hell no.

Attempting to drift on a public street is all sorts of illegal. Using your vehicle is out of the question, anyway. Feel free to try if you have a hardon for paying insurance, though.
I think its awsome you are interested in drifting. It is a motorsport and a lifestyle imo. Unless you plan on spending all your hard-earned cash on a proper set up (not a murano)and getting lots of TRACK time (not the streets EVER) leave it to the pros and just attend local events.
If you are serious just buy a rwd car you dont mind slamming into a wall and invest in LSD, coilovers, and spare tires/rear wheels. Go read up how to pass tech inspection for a local event (thats the hardest part of drifting!!! lulz) and go have a blast.
Once thats said and done look into the Drift Bible (buy the dvd its worth it) and hone your skills. Drifitng isnt cheap btw. Motor swaps, suspension setups, helmet, gas, fixing crap to pass tech, TIRES/wheels, fluids, admission, etc etc etc. Oh and if you read this and still wanna street drift, tickets, breaking shit/towing, vehicular homoside is also expensive.
