I need a topic to discuss for my English class. It should be somewhat controversial, lead to a debate and somehow engage the whole group. There are no rules regarding the topic. For example, one guy taught us poker and we were talking about its role in America, Internetpoker, ethics etc. while playing.

I'd love to do something similiar engaging, but up to now I haven't found anything. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

- Should USA withdraw troops from Iraq?
- Was Bush vs Gore election rigged?
- E-Sports: fair competition or kid slavery?

Last one would be great: describe the situation of those Korean nerdy progamers practicing like 18h a day just to get sooo underpaid (Jaedong is the best example). Yeah, I know they earn quite a lot of money, but I don't think it's enough to compensate neglected education, social life, etc.

if you're American you could talk about how Americans are brainwashed since childhood to think of socialism as incredibly evil and to reject any idea which might even border on socialism while every year socialist countries are dominating every kind of living standards measurement

Use something to do with hunting of some form.

For example, in England, Fox hunting (using dogs and men on horses) is an extremely controversial topic on which nearly everyone has an oppinion. Try maybe seal clubbing or something similar? You'll always find someone with an oppinion ;D.
