So I would like to present SC/BW and the progaming scene to a friend of mine and I'm currently looking for one single game that would showcase the 'gist' of it. Game needs these attributes: 1. Short, ideally. No more than 12ish minutes. A rush would be fine. 2. 'Accessible' to someone who hasn't seen a game ever and is not too much into video games in general. I guess TvZ would be most fitting. Humans vs aliens, etc. 3. Close and exciting if possible (without being too complex strategy-wise). 4. Shows the crowd (including during the game) and all the 'atmosphere' and 'pressure' around it, before and after the game.
English commentaries would be a definite plus, but it's not indispensable.
If you are looking for a game , this one does'nt fit all the criteria , but everything about it should showcase the game and the scene as a whole. Plus its one of my favourite games ever.
True that Yellow vs Bisu on hbr is good and the crowd makes it even more enjoyable
Try Firebathero vs. Jaehoon on that OSL map(it was the anniversary 200th game of the OSL) so that it is cool and it doesn't look like you are handpicking games for friend to make SC more interesting than it is
Or maybe you can handpick one, like Flash vs Bisu on Katrina in the Gom(best game of 2008)
Check out Cholera's pimpest play collection maybe there is something nice there.
this might not fit your criteria as showing the "gist" of the game, but its pretty exciting, and even people who haven't played the game will be able to tell that something crazy is going on just from the tone of the commentator
I always suggest an old game, Boxer vs Anytime on Forte. Boxer goes for a hidden factory to lay mines behind the containing goons. Goons retreat and go splat, Boxer contains for the win. It shows a basic strategy/positioning/ and has a finals atmosphere.
Boxer vs Jju on Requiem Boxer vs July on Neo Forte Boxer vs Calm on Longinus 2 Nada vs GoRush on Neo Guillotine Nada vs Anytime on Arcadia 2 July vs Goodfriend game 5 on Neo Forte
