took an 8 foot fall into the bottom of a bowl on my bike at the bmx park here. left lung collapsed a tiny bit as well they said.
it's not as bad as i looks tho! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acromioclavicular_dislocation heals completly on its own and shoulder goes back to full strength after a few weeks.
nurses, docs said mine is a really nasty one an that i should consider surgery on it.
hurts like hell and they said taking aspirin is good enough for this injury. uhh
other than this, it was a beautiful fall day here in flagstaff arizona ^_^

Holy shit that's a scary picture to me hahaha.
No wonder I'm afraid of extreme activities like that.

i can move it a lot actually! but when i stand up and the weight of my arm pulls on the shoulder area, its hurts constantly. but i have a nice sling so it's all tucked up and cozy.
if i try to move my shoulder up in the direction of my ear.. ow! i'm not gonna do that anymore

Oh fuck that sucks. Shoulder injuries are like the worst. You better do whatever you have to do to make a full recovery, because I fucked my shoulder up once (not even as bad as you) and now it's a daily issue for me.

QFT. Make sure that shit heals and do not strain it or try to use it too early for any reason, or it could become a persistent problem.

not to scare you, but a friend on my old rugby team dislocated his shoulder, had it operated, they inserted a metal rod to connect it, and it didn't heal properly, had to redo operation. took 9 months to heal and permanently it was permanently damaged gg rugby.
moral of the story is make sure if you get surgery the doctor operating isn't a retard.

good thing you're not in a cast or anything, don't dare overwork it though...

That sucks. Looks like it separated cleanly though so it should heal properly. Be glad you didn't ruin your synovial joint or rotator cuff - those never heal properly.

If that's your ACjoint I had the same thing happen to me  Hurts like a bitch, but heals fine. Except there'll be a bump there for a long time (dunno if it goes away yet)

Ya joint injuries in general pretty awful - shoulder and knees get the reputation because they're huge and unstable so they get busted a lot

At least it's a clean break. I've had multiple broken bones and luckily they were also clean. It sucks even more balls if the break is like a shatter.

Sucks man. Doing something like that is almost guarantee for AC joint arthritis in the future. The clavicular/scapular/acromial ligaments are obviously torn so AC joint just rubs and you get arthritis in the future. Fun stuff.
Make sure you let it heal so that you won't have quicker degeneration.
Surgery may be a good idea depending on what you want to do in the future.

so i tried to take my shirt off last night.. i couldn't because the pain was so unbearable. my only goal today is to get this shirt off and get a new one on. i haven't slept with a shirt on since i was like 9
@mani i don't even want to shower until i'm healed up. it hurts so bad when i'm simply standing. pretty much everything but sitting hurts my shoulder right now
