Maybe you have it the other way around? Looks like monitor would be 1200 and cpu ~ 300 SGD Must be a really sweet monitor! MyHeroNoob, don't feel bad about it (sorry if I made you feel that way). Like leMaj24 said, you can always upgrade parts in the future. Have fun with it. Getting a new computer is great!

i paid 1.6k last year for this spec: (which right now should be like 1.2k) Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0 GHz (3.6GHz) DFI LANParty DK P35 4x DDR2 1GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Vista 64-bit 700GB HD But as others said, you can always upgrade, as long as your chassis can handle it

This is not to say that the comp is crap, replace the GPU, switch to a 64bit OS and possible OC the CPU a bit and it can be good. Just that to invest additional capital into a pre-configured machine when you aren't doing it for specific reasons feels a bit like a waste and negates the point of such machines. 4x1gb being cheaper than 2x2? 0.o Must've been some weird promotion lol

I'm getting a new computer on friday with a 9500GT. think it will be enough to run sc2? Im not afraid that the rest of the computer can't run it (core i5, 4 gb ram, win7 64 bit, etc), just a bit nervous with the graphics card as my uncle who is making the computer said he'd guess the 9500GT would run sc2 on low graphics. On thread again: If you're looking for a free MMORPG, maplestory probably is the way to go, another fun online game is Trackmania, if you haven't tried it already, you should go do so now. Its awesome.

...at that, what is your i5 build doing with a 9500, if your budget is that low, change to some lower grade processor and get a better card.

I can't imagine using a 32-bit system to address more than 2^32 memory is as fast as using a 64-bit system for that purpose. Check the table. Granted, 3 GB main memory is plenty for most games and applications. Iirc PAE does not work with windows due to driver fail. But like you said, just get a 64 bit system. The 32 bit monsters are dying at 03:14:08 UTC on 19 January 2038 anyways ^o^
