Why are lenses so damn hard to put on. FFS I got the right side in, but that shit took me like 20 minutes, trying to get my left on but I keep blinking and closing my eyes. Now my vision is half blurry, half clear. This is my first time putting on lenses.
Any tips? These shits keep sticking to my fingertips and not going on my eye.

Blink a lot when they're in, your vision will go back to unblurry.
Also if they keep sticking to your fingers you might not be hitting your eyeball dead-on, try to push hard enough as well, and all this while not blinking or it'll fall on the floor. Best way is probably using a mirror on a table and looking into your eye while putting them in at first.

I gave up on contacts the first day I tried them. If you have that much trouble getting them in, you'll have that much trouble getting them out when you need to go to sleep, and then you'll wanna kill yourself.
Also, I wish Vero hadn't banned me from his blog. I had a good snarky comment to make on his latest Tips.

I actually don't have any trouble getting them out, it's just getting them in is the problem.
just using the washroom mirror

You'll get used to em. I've gotten to the point where I can put em on without a mirror. Gradually, you'll see the time needed to put on lenses dwindle down a lot.

I started wearing rigid night contacts when I was around 12, and lemme tell you, if you think it sucked putting on your day contacts...
|
use your other fingers to keep your eye open? It can also help to have your contact on the very tip of your finger so you don't have to go too far in to get the contact on your eye
|
When I first tried I gave up after 30 mins. I went back a month later and it was super easy. I'd say if you can't get it now, take a break and try it later.

Just stick it in your eye man...what's so hard?
Make it wet with solution and then put it in your eye.

I went through all the trouble of learning how to get them in and right when I was finally confident I could do it without wasting much time I learned that contacts were not for me!

oh this is how i do it btw, i never need a mirror or whatever and takes me like 5 sec to put both in:
put the lens on your index finger, with that same hand pull the lower eyelid down with your middle finger while pulling your upper one up with the thumb of your other hand
|
You get used to it, I'm at the point where all I need is the contact on the index finger and it goes right in on its own.

Jeesus, so much whining about something so easy. The only hard time is the first time when you're afraid to damage your eye and keep blinking. Once you suppress the blink reflex, it's super easy like putting on glasses or a condom.

You'll get used to it. I do what Frits does just that I use my index finger of my other hand to pull my eyelid up. Do you have the day-time ones or the rigid ones?
|
Yes it takes a while to get used to contacts. Gave me a good reason for being late for work though haha
It's gotten to the point where i can put them on in the dark I don't even give it a second thought
But i mean, i've been using them for years. I look a whole lot better with them on than with glasses thats for sure, so its worth the effort

As people have said, it will get easier as time goes on. A LOT easier.
I personally wear night&day contacts that I leave in for 3-5 weeks and only take them out to clean them if they are getting dirty, which cuts down on time I have to invest to wear contacts.

Rolling it the wrong way? Like putting it on inside out? o_O
I've never done this and I'm the king of simple-task-fuckups.

Getting contacts on and off are hard. It took me a while to get over the fact that you're putting something onto your EYE.
You'll get it, it's just practice, just like any other thing.
