I have a stock gateway gm5260 with a Geforce 7300 LE, which is what it came with and I haven't done anything to it. I have noticed that sometimes the fan gets very loud for extended periods of time, which lead me to suspect that the temperatures might be getting a little high. I installed SpeedFan, and this is what I see:
GPU: 52C CPU die: -38C Motherboard: 35C System: 51C Motherboard: 42C ICH: 102C MCH: 47C HD0: 41C Core 0: 43C
I guess they all look fine (not sure what's up with the -38C), but the 102 is scary. You could make coffee on that thing! I google'd ICH and it looks like it's part of the southbridge which is part of the CPU? Is this normal, or should I get some additional cooling before my computer melts?
Thanks!
