Oh what a jolly week it has been so far... I was seeking some relief in anime as usual after nerd raging on iCCup when my comp suddenly shuts down. I thought it was a power outage at first but the lamp in my room was still on-I was in the motion of turning my computer back on when I start hearing quiet cracking and popping sounds, followed by the unpleasant odor of burning plastic and chemicals. At this point, I have realized that my 650W power supply has died and I'm inhaling poisonous gases. Potentially, I've lost $1300 in hardware if the power supply took my rig with it (built this rig in 2008 -3.6GHz Q6600, 9800GX2 etc etc). Obviously the first thing I did was rush to my backup computer (An emachines from 2004) to vent my frustration on the interwebs, but as expected that machine refuses to start (probably another dead power supply). Maybe I shouldn't have BBSed all of those players on iCCup today. (I thought it was fine because they were Protoss) Oh jolly jolly jolly jolly jolly fate.

5/5 for admitting that it might have been your fault because of karma.

Thats what you get for spending $1280 on hardware and $20 on your power supple.

When your power supply die it kills your whole comp ? When mine died i just bought a new one and 15 minutes later everything was fine. However it was an old comp :o

A bad power supply could cause a power surge throughout the system and basically fizzle all the components

karma is bullshit, I did something really nice for someone then opened a catsup packet and sprayed it all over my clothes.
