UPDATE!! New High Score:
We know the pinnacle of every bowler's dream - the perfect 300 game. If you can string 12 strikes in a given game, you enter that group of high rollers in the bowling world who can brag about hitting X's across the board. Yesterday, I was pretty close to obtaining that dream, but missed by one open frame.
Bottom score is mine, obviously
So I started off with a 6 bagger, left a split, and finished out with strikes. The lane conditions were about medium oily, so I was using a traditional stroker's line, throwing straight and in from the 5th board on the first arrow. On the 7th shot, I happened to throw significantly deeper, from about the 2nd arrow and in. I knew that I threw that shot wrong from the moment I released the ball, so I was hoping for a brooklyn hit. Unfortunately, the oil held too strong and my ball had no chance of recovering, resulting in a high hit, leaving a 4/9 split. Some people might say that even if I struck on the seventh, the pressure may have gotten to me on later frames, especially while filling the 10th, but I felt that if there was any night I could hit the big 3 game, it would've been yesterday night.
The bowling balls I use consists of:
Storm Virtual Gravity
One of today's strongest reacting bowling balls, I use this as my main strike ball. Having bowled over hundreds of games already, the reaction on this ball died and it doesn't seem to hit as hard, but it's still a solid bowling ball to keep in one's arsenal.
Brunswick Intense Inferno
I love using Brunswick's line because of their smooth, easy-to-read arcs. I was fortunate enough to find an intense inferno, the longest holding line amongst the infernos at a proshop near me where they had this ball plugged and ready for resale at a bargain $70. I use this ball as my secondary striker, taking advantage of it's easily read hook as I move deeper into the lanes as the boards dry out.
Columbia 300 White Dot
Spare shots. This ball is there to pick up easy 1 or 2 pin spare conversions, especially for hitting the annoying 10 pin. This ball is not meant to hook, as it's made of polyester (pretty much plastic) coverstock, so it's going to go straight at whatever pin you're trying to snipe.
That's pretty much it. I'm happy with my new high game for now and I have plenty more opportunities to hit higher scores. More than that, I'd be happy if I could maintain a steady 210~220 average. Now if only my bowling alley would turn off their annoying disco lights...
EDIT: I'll be updating this thread constantly as my high score keeps increasing, until I hit the exalted 300. Then, I'll make a separate thread proclaiming my perfection achieved :o

i hate the dreaded one non strike frame.. when i used to bowl in a league, i spared the first frame... and struck out... i was pissed afterwards LOL

If I can ever reach 3 digits when bowling I'll be a proud man. I absolutely suck at bowling, personal best must be 90 or something...

I used to bowl a ton when i was in high school since we had an bowling alley just across the street. Students at our school got a discount so we pretty much ran there as often as we could. "Career" high (didnt really bowl much after I left that school) was 276, still got the computer printout of that game in some box somewhere, with standard sucky bowling alley bowls.

I think people that say they suck just do not play enough and do not have their own ball. Custom balls and weighted which is why they curve and if you have one your scores will improve pretty quickly.
That's a pretty impressive score. Are you in a league or do you just bowl for fun? I have only hit 255 high score, getting that many strikes is ridiculous!

A lot of it is simply how you throw the ball... but in oily conditions the newer balls definitely hook more than the cheap plastic balls they loan at at the bowling alley.

In the USA, if you are getting into bowling, then a mid-level ball (like what I use) would be ~120-150 dollars and a high end ball would be more like 200.

Right now, I'm not in a league but I plan on joining one soon! Should be a good experience for me because league conditions are usually freshly oiled compared to regular lane conditions.

Bump!
Updating OP with my new high score: 279! Again with the 7th frame, I hit the pocket at a slightly sharper angle, almost leaving in a 7/10 split. Fortunately, the 7 pin fell down and a messenger was headed towards the 10 pin, but hit too weakly, leaving the 10 pin wobbling as I cried my way through the spare...yes, just like this, T_T
P.S. I did join a league and if anything interesting occurs, I'll post! Wish me luck.

Ah nice. 279 was my high for a good while too.
2 or 3 times I had gotten a spare in the second and then a 9 on the last throw.
Then one time I got a spare in the third and struck out.
Until finally one day I got 10 in a row <3
Although I had 11 once or twice but across 2 games

Nice score man. Back then I started bowling regularly, and half sober I'd have a lot of great hits, but at the same time a lot of chokes to keep me from hitting 200. Then one night old friends showed up and I got so drunk like I've never had been (while bowling that is) and finally got over 200, hit 219 Heh.
Never happened again =( No good alleys near where I live atm.
I used my B Absolute Inferno. Good ball.
This is making me miss bowling >_<

Omg, my friend uses that ball and it's simply SUPERB.
I myself use an intense inferno, as stated in my OP and I absolutely love it. My former 266 was achieved by my virtual gravity, but my newest high 279 was because of the inferno; I love the smooth arc it gives on your shot.
How was yours drilled?

ya 266 is crazy
ive gotten 186 or something like that, i throw in a really bad/funny way but i make it work decently but would have to alter it to get higher and then id have to start at scratch t.t
