My initial intuition was to go with Squirtle, the past 10 PvPs for both players clearly, unambiguously favour Squirtle, not just in %, but in wins vs. calibre of opponents. Squirtle is on an absolute tear. Squirtle's PvP is damn solid. Squirtle is smart, meticulous, and never too risky-- all very important traits for good PvP.

But those are tangibles. The intangible vote-for-HerO reading is off the charts. He's finally playing to his potential, he's much hungrier for the prize than Squirtle, he's got much more raw potential than Squirtle, he's like a genius just waking up to himself-- in my liquibet, I had the little circle selected for Squirtle, but I just couldn't click on vote. HerO is just too slick, his bag of tricks and skills is too deep.

Artosis said it well when he said 'if he tries to go blink too much, he'll probably just die', or something to that effect, which is true-- but I think his blink play was a result of nerves, being flustered and not knowing what to do in a high pressure tournament situation-- it was the safe middle ground he took when he was unsure-- when playing on the ladder, he is always so far beyond his opponents, that he can make blink work vs. a turtling immortal heavy comp (since blink rewards good micro so much relative to other strats)-- a strategy that didn't work out so well vs. stronger opponents in tournaments when he had less of a micro/multitasking advantage... And honestly, looking at his recent play, and seeing his newfound self confidence, I can't see him losing in a silly way like that this time.

Heart HerO, brain HerO.

now Parting on the other hand, we'll have to see... guess we'll all stay tuned.

I don't know exactly what insider information you have that says that Hero is "hungrier" for the prize than Squirtle. Winning the GSL is the most important accomplishment of your career. You have to believe that both these guys want this more than anything else.

Not trying to imply anything, just really curious. Why do people here love HerO so much. Is it just 'cause he's Liquid`? I'm getting BoxeR-esque vibes here when he was frequent on liquibets back then. So seriously, is it just the Liquid` tag?
