Yes for certain things.
But there are topics wehere he CLEARLY don't know what he is talking about.
Example:

A degree in math/physics/CS and proficiency in C++ is what big corporations want desperately right now. There is a lot bigger demand for java and C# programmers than C++. Um, what are you talking about? C# is merely a "replacement" for Java. All programmers should know C++ and Java. C# is just a rewritten language based on Java. Don't spew random shit when you don't know what you're talking about. C++ is very important. The fact that YOU SAID people wanted Java/C# more than C++ tells me that you don't know that much. Companies want proficiency in C++ and Java.
This example involves me just because it's easier to search for such a specific stuff. This clearly shows that he don't have fucking clue.He is not even close. He si living in 1998. There are more examples but i somewhat can't find them using search function .

i agree that it might be a good idea for the strategy section, so that people would know the quality posts.
for the other sections, sure, it would be a popularity contest (i.e. sundance would always rate WhatIsProtoss' posts down just because they had a gay little fight before). but what's wrong with that? don't the disliked/annoying/stupid posters get banned in the end anyways?

[EDIT]Here i was speaking strictly about the general forum. the more i think about it though, the more i really believe that strategy / brood war / tournament could really benefit from this but maybe that'd be a good thing
i actually wouldn't like it if negatively modded posts didn't show up by default (except maybe in the strategy section). arguments are sometimes fun to read.

This would only benefit TL.net if instead of individual posts being rated, an entire thread was rated. This way, looking through the forum, you wanted to look at a topic, it would be rated and you can pick and choose cool topics to spend your time browsing.
I guess it would also work for the strategy section.

perhaps we should record some nightstories for the people too, you know how hard it can be to fall asleep sometimes. Oh and let's not forget to install a microwave in the tl.net server so people can heat their food.

i think maybe a user rating system, but post rating is a nono, there are too many posts here, just think of the live game reports, that would ruin everyone's average post rating or whatever

I agree with Klogon.......it'd be useful if entire threads were rated

There are people who can post sensibly and also post like a dumbass.

lol shark is staff now? first octopuss and now shark, wtf is going on with the giving of staff to bm kids.
imo for people who aren't exactly pristine staff material, they should get like a faded blue text name or something, but no tl.net logo. based on these guys posting history making them representatives of tl.net is a mistake...

a-game i dont know why you think it is any of your business who gets to be staff. Are you part of the discussion and decision making here? I thought not. You have no idea what he has been asked to do or why he was invited.
If this was post rating, you would be down by 10.

thanks, i'll remember to withold any feedback while posting in the feedback section

I'm sorry if I was bad mannered somewhere else a-game. Now that I was graciously allowed to join TL.net as a News Staff, I will try my best to be a better representative of TL.
