that's great, but you're not the entirety of teamliquid.

either i'm explaining myself poorly or you're just not reading what i'm writing. i'll try again. obviously there are people who know you and when you post they go "oh hey it's H". but for almost every TL reader, the names of the majority of posters (i.e. you, me, etc) could very well be interchangeable. unless you're rekrul, rpf, mani etc (aka instantly recognizable names), you're just another name. i claim i fall into this area. Hell, this is why people are allowed to change their names in the first place! The arbitrary 500 post restriction implies that you are not "just another name" when you cross that boundary which is absolutely silly ^_^
here's another attempt: consider a set of people E - everyone. consider the following subsets: S: set of people who know shinbi J: set of people who know jeejee J\S = null set

If you know that in the first place... why are you asking? By your logic, anyone who isn't a "significant person" (ie. 99% of TL according to you) could just change their name, which is something the mods want to prevent so that people preserve a sense of identity. There's meant to be a certain sense of responsibility in posting on a forum in that your moniker represents more than just a name. Which is why the rules are the way they are. Which is why there is an arbitrary 500 post restriction. Or maybe it isn't, I don't know. I'm not a mod.

hi i registered as nobodyhome246 years ago because nobodyhome was taken, but i see that the nobodyhome who registered made the account in 2003 and has 0 posts (not that i'm much more active either but..) so i assume that person doesn't visit here anymore, so can i be changed to nobodyhome?
thanks in advance.

woah jeejee stop trying to inconvenience the people who know you as jeejee (everyone) by confusing us with your fancy new name!

sry but is it posible to change my name to Skruf i just joined nrg but if i use skruf clan changes in the future will not be a problem -.- (stream name kinda gets wrong cause of it)
so Get.Skruf ----> Skruf

When i registered a long time ago, I put numbers at the end of my name, but I'd like to ditch them because I feel they have a negative effect on my post quality (make me look like a 10 year old)
So, mods, could you please change my name from "gamecrazy67" to just "gamecrazy"? Thank you.

Can't think of where else to put this without PMing it and sounding like I'm asking for some sort of personal favor. Basically I joined TLNet a long time ago in high school and mostly lurked on an old account, when my duties on iCCup put me more in a position to be dealing with the community I became more active here on TLNet and started posting a lot more. But since I never posted a whole lot before I never knew about the whole name change thing. So I have two accounts one I never use anymore thats sitting around with the venerable September 2003 join date... and this one with a late 2008 join date.
Is it possible at all to do some sort of merge without messing with my posting histories at all? Basically keep my name and posts but show the original join date out of basically vanity?
Normally I'd just say this account is when I joined the community so that join date is fine, but really I had been running tournaments and other sorts of admin things on PGTour behind the scenes long before this account existed as well. I can post on the other account if needed, not even bringing up a name since I'm not even sure about the issue.

Please change my name to ProZeN as it is more recognizable for people who play me over East and Iccup. Thank you.

For what it's worth, the account I'm on right now isn't my oldest account either, but I never bothered trying to do what you are doing

Yeah I wasnt sure if anyone even ever asked for it before so I figured I'd sate my ego a little bit and see if it was possible. But was expecting a no, it's just 2003 and 2008 is a huge difference on join date.

If everyone changed their names every 500 posts, no one would ever gain that identity in the first place like those notable posters. If Rekrul had 20 different IDs in his time at TL, I'm sure there would be problems.

I have a good feeling that this is going to get denied... but:
Can my name please be changed to GT.Ross? I just feel the need to get away from a nickname I made when I was 13 years old (:O!) and feel that I should move to something... more mature. I know that I probably fall under the term "known user" but I'll gladly add the signature to tell people who I am.
