Sure, you want to see these problems, but you want to do it at a time when people will actually be there to fix these problems.
And you get tons of valuable testing done when the beta isnt up at all. If they are ready to put up the beta they should put it up. I can understand the PC Bangs first for marketing reasons, but there is no reason to delay because if something goes wrong it might not get fixed right away. Plus this close to release I am sure lots of bizz employees are working weekends anyways.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other.
End of the line, is they want it back up ASAP. Whether it breaks, or whether its on a good day, doesn't really matter.
Just seems to make more sense to bring it up before the 4th of July weekend, not after. If you bring it up before, you get valuable data over a holiday weekend for the US. If it goes down, fix it on Monday. If you bring it up after the holiday weekend, you get zero data, zero stress testing and then it goes down in the middle of the week anyway...
The sooner, the better. Why sit around with a perfectly capable product waiting for a 'good day' to bring it up?

It needs to be the 1st....

why are we not getting a confirmation from Blizzard yet? lolz

Heh, beta restarts the exact same day that I'm coming home from Crete. What perfect timing

hope it comes up so i can play in my tournament *crosses fingers*

And you need a korean social security number to make a korean bnet account. However, you don't need a korean social security number to make an Asian account, which can probably still be played since Korea uses the Asian server.

Isn't patch day an equally big stress test? Server down. Server up. BOOM, everyone logs on. Patch 1 - 02/25 = Thursday Patch 2 - 02/26 = Friday Patch 3 - 03/04 = Thursday Patch 4 - 03/05 = Friday Patch 5 - 03/12 = Friday Patch 6 - 03/25 = Thursday Patch 7 - 03/30 = Tuesday Patch 8 - 04/07 = Wednesday Patch 9 - 04/22 = Thursday Patch 10 - 04/26 = Monday Patch 11 - 05/06 = Thursday Patch 12 - 05/13 = Thursday Patch 12.1 - 05/17 = Monday Patch 13 - 05/20 = Thursday Patch 14 - 06/01 = Tuesday Patch 15 - 06/03 = Thursday So, 10 out of 15 were on a Thursday or Friday. They're not adverse to doing upgrades later in the week. Besides, its Beta, why WOULDN'T they allow the system to get stress tested?
Aww bibdy what a relieving post! Your use of raw facts and statistics has enlightened this board. You have my thanks.

actually... didn't they say the beta would run for around 2 weeks and then go down for another week before release? 28th would make sense then ^_^

My vacation job start the first of July :s so lets hope it gets up a bit sooner. The 28 would just be so awsome.

Attempt at translating:
The beta would resume on the first of July
Some time ago, Blizzard announced on it's official forums that the beta would resume at the beginning of July without giving any further details on the supposed date. Today, we learned that this beta would start back on July 1st for us and on June 27 for our Korean friends, although exclusively in their cybercafes named "PCBANG".
PCBANG is THE Korean cybercafe that was created in 1998. Used to play Starcraft, it's the rendezvous of Korean players. Indeed, for the small sum of one dollar per hour, the players can train decently with quality computers and all this while being right beside their playing partners. Small precision: PCBANG is not a chain of cybercafes but simply the name of Korea's cybercafes.
It's therefore thanks to a small poster published in every PCBANG in Korean that we learn that the beta will resume in two days in cybercafes exclusively. Otherwise, to play at home may it be in Korea, in Europe, or in America, the beta will resume publicly on July 1st. Ideal restarting date for many of us as it also marks the end of exams and the beginning of summer break. [Removed sentence: irrelevant joke on how they will have to chose between playing or going outside.]
As a final note, a favor will be given to the emblematic country of Starcraft: the beta will be open to them on July 27, which is the same day than the official release of the game, for an undetermined length of time. But for us, we will have to contempt ourselves of about 2 weeks of playing as it was posted in the official forums that the beta will close definitively two weeks before the release of the game.

could point but 12.1 hardly counts it was released asap because patch 12 broke the game (zerg cancel and larve back)

I knew it would come back online just as I am leaving for vacation >.< I'm still happy though as I will return to just a few days waiting for the full game to go live

26 days of beta left, not bad.
