Please introduce yourself and tell us what kind of person you are
- I am a SKT1’s coach -_-;
We’re curious about your daily routines after becoming a coach
- It differs everyday. Some days we have games, and events. These days it is the b-season so we have many meetings. I’ve been busy trying to get my driver’s license.
Your toughest moment as a pro gamer
- When Boxer went to the army.
What’s the biggest difference between a coach and a player?
- When you’re a player you take care of yourself mostly, and now I have to take care of everybody.
What do you need the most in your life right now?
- What I need is a lot of time with my family. When I am with her I don’t want to leave her side. This must be love haha.
Of all the games you’ve played, which game sticks out the most in your mind?
- Against Yellow during the TG Sambo MSL finals, 3rd set. If I recall correctly I had 4 marines, 1tank and a drop ship? Yellow had little bit of lurkers, scourges, drone and an overlord left. It was a control game at the big final so it was that much fun. It was my very first championship title, and also won with a 3-0 score so stands out even more.
Do you ever say to yourself `it was really good being a pro gamer`? If so, when?
Even when not playing Starcraft I didn’t feel any withdrawals. I became a pro gamer to quit Starcraft if that makes any sense. I feel like a normal person now.
I’ve gained so much by having been a pro gamer. I don’t have time to tell you all the good things... I have been blessed to have been one. No matter what you do if you have gained something good from it I think it’s an okay thing.
Excluding your teammates, is there anyone else you’re close to? And if there is, how’d you end up being close to them?
- I don’t hang out with other teammates all that much so I can’t really say, but if I had to mention someone it has to be Nada and Savior. The reason for being close to them is because of all the games we’ve played against each other in the league games. Oh yeah, [Oops]Reach too, well we are not all that close but someone I would have liked to have befriended. We were supposed to have a night out for a drink before he joined the Air Force but it never happened. If I see him ever again I would love to have a meal with him.
What was the best moment in your life?
- When I got married. It was the turning point in my life. Many years from now I would say the same thing I think.
Most memorable fan?
A fan named `Booming`, she told me I was her type, it was first time ever someone ever told me I was their type.
Who influenced you the most?
- Blizzard people who made the game Starcraft.
If you could go back in time as a pro gamer, what would you do?
- Have the record of beating nada 100 times and beating Savior 7:0.
Besides Starcraft, what are you good at? And what do you enjoy doing?
- I’m not good at anything. Oh yeah, jokGu (foot volleyball). I don’t do it often but when I do I’m not so shabby.
If you win the one million dollar lottery how would you spend it?
- My life’s goal is to save one million dollars. Haven’t put too much thought into how I would spend it though. I want to think about it afterward. This has been a longtime dream of mine since middle school. To achieve my dream I don’t spend very much money.
Are you happy with your marriage? What’s different about it compared to your single days?
- Absolutely happy. If you ask me why, I’ll just smile. I’ll just smile on the 2nd question as well.
Which part of your face do you like the most?
- My eyebrows. They’re vertical. It’s different than others. Nothing else!!!!
What do you dislike about yourself?
- My fast decision making and having no regrets about it. What I dislike is I’m not very systematic, or organized.
FireBatHero asked what you thought about him
- Just because you analyze the previous champions doesn’t mean you will be one too. It’s not a matter of methods and how, you do things to become a champion, but rather the focus is on the champion and his journey of becoming a champion.
So what I am about to say is not the road to become a champion. It’s different for everyone. For me I immensely enjoyed winning. It was fun... I would always think about how I would win. Losing was inconceivable. I would say to myself `today how will I get the other guy on my tour bus`, so even if I don’t do well I still end up winning. Before I knew it I ended up winning the whole thing. Winning is very simple. For example if you’re in the top 16 all you have to do is defeat 4 to 5 players to take the championship title. That is it 1:1, do that up to 4 to 5 times and you win the whole thing. However that is a difficult thing to do.
It’s easy in a way, and yet also very hard. I think of FBH as a crazy person. You make me laugh every time I look at you. When you did a ceremony in front of our team it angered me, but now it’s all good. I wish you well and be the best person that you can be and be remembered by everyone, of course you are going to have to work very hard towards this, oh yeah, please have good manners to your seniors while at it. Good Luck!

Interview with Nony
+ Show Spoiler +
Hello NonY. Can you please state your name, age, and how long you have been playing Starcraft for the fans?
- My name is Tyler Wasieleski, I’m 22, and I’ve been playing StarCraft off and on for about 6 years now.
When did you decide to take StarCraft seriously? How long after that did you decide to model your play specifically upon pro gamers?
- I’ve taken StarCraft seriously for WCG USA in 2006 and 2007 but I did not aspire to become a pro gamer until early 2008. I immediately studied pro gamers’ play to understand what it takes to be a successful pro gamer. I have always practiced with the long term in mind. I want to build all my skills and become a complete player.
Speaking of WCG, what are your predictions for the event?
- I’m pretty confident in myself. I think IdrA and I will have some great games against each other and one of us will claim first. There will be several other great players there that are capable of taking wins from anyone, but it’s impossible to predict. WCG USA can’t occur without a few upsets.
You just made it to the finals of the Spirit tournament to find potential pro gamers to come to Korea. The other semi-final has ClouD vs. Machine. Who do you think will win this match to meet u in the finals?
- I think ClouD will win. But I think Machine will play well and have a good showing.
What do you predict as the outcome of a potential NonY vs. ClouD finals?
- I will win. I’m eager to win in a very convincing fashion, but I’ll settle for a win either way.
The Korea pro gaming scene has evolved to a point where very young players dominate. Teams always choose the youngest talent they can find. At 22, you would be considered somewhat old. What makes you a better choice than a younger player?
- I am not old to the point where my mind or hands have slowed down -- far from it of course. So the younger players have no advantage there. But with my age and experience in the world, I am better prepared mentally for the journey of becoming a pro gamer. Younger players are more likely to burn out or be unable to handle pro gaming emotionally, or perhaps their opinions on pro gaming will change as they become adults. But I am solid.
If chosen to go to Korea, all joking aside, would you be prepared to scrub toilets?
- I would be prepared to commit to whatever lifestyle my experienced coaches and managers decide is best. If I’m asked to do chores, of course I am prepared to do them.
eSTRO cleaning time takes place from about 9:30am to 10:30am. Artosis sleeping time doesn’t end until 11:30am. Do you have what it takes to sneak into my room and sweep the floors/fold the blankets without waking me up?
- Hahaha I heard Artosis works very hard, so he must sleep heavily, and thus it would be easy.
Good answer. I’ll put in a good word for you. If you got to live the dream as a pro gamer, what would be your immediate and long-term goals?
- My immediate goal would be to pass Courage and get my pro gamer license. My long term goal would be to win a Pro League match. I’ve had a lot of experience with team sports and the satisfaction of contributing to the team is amazing.
Any thoughts on SC2?
- I just hope it’s good for e-Sports. But the game is going to change SO much through beta, and through its first few years of release when there are balance patches going on, that it makes no sense for me to worry about it now.
Well thanks for the interview. GL in your upcoming events!
