this might be the best World Cup i've ever seen, maybe on par with 98 which may hold a special place in my heart because i was old enough to actually watch it (i went to USA 94 but i was too litttle, i do remember a few matches but never really realized i was there)

I think they could've equalized this, but they kept throwing away chance after chance, especially with Belgium defense looking exhausted as hell. Yeah, we have no one but ourselves to blame. Could've scored tons but kept missing a lot of shots. Also those 2 meter pass misses...

It was clear contact, I think they might just have interpreted it that way. It wasn't a penalty but still closer to a penalty than Kane's dive against Colombia.

Did not care who won, Belgium and Brazil both attacked well but pretty poor defensively so i am not scared of either :3 But to have a huge talking point after a game like that is awful. What is wrong with the rule ? If the ball is out of play - no penalty. Maybe he should book him, but no foul can be awarded. oh and Neymar joins Ronaldo in the group that could be alone in the box, throw themselves at the ground and still not get a yellow card for diving

I think we were very unlucky today with an own goal, so many missed chances and some decisions by the referee that could have gone the other way. But honestly Belgium faced what we are feeling now in 2002. So we can't complain too much. Contrats, Belgium, I will be cheering for you to win this.

Ball goes out of play because he gets fouled and has no way to retrieve said ball that is my point. He has no chance to get it when he has been tackled. Does he get the ball if Kompany isn't there....

ball was clearly not out of play when the foul occured. It was unreachable, but I don't know of any part of the rules that say this matters.
