My latest info was that it is too much work to maintain and continuously add stuff. Whoever is updating it now is awesome, I love you. TLPD is one of the best things ever to come out of TL.

That's ok, you didn't know ^^ We added 2 cool folks that have done a great job so far despite real life obligations. I also really value TLPD and would rather not see such an amazing part of the site die due to lack of manpower. In other words, props to our TLPD staff!

Sounds great and I'm really glad to hear that. =) On November 21 2017 01:12 r33k wrote: SK looked absolutely fantastic in WEGL, I'd really appreciate a writeup from one of the Korean power users here, to find out what's been stopping him from pulling results in ASLs because as long as EffOrt doesn't overcome his stage jitters he's out of the question when it comes to stopping Flash. Eh? SK lost a ZvZ in ASL, that's all.

Simply put, Soulkey has been playing mostly zerg-versus-terran match-ups (sSak, Last, and Flash in succession) on his way to victory for this most recent tournament. Soulkey has always been known for his high calibre zerg-versus-terran capabilities, but his other match-ups were not necessarily up to par, even during his professional years. It's not that Soulkey is a one trick pony, but his elegance in the most popular match-up tends to mislead people about his overall strength as a competitor. For example, his record versus Bisu during the last six months in online sponsored matches has lower win rates than the likes of EffOrt, Jaedong, Larva, and herO. Soulkey also has negative records in online sponsored matches versus a whole bunch of zerg players such as Jaedong, Larva, and herO. The player who is most capable of taking Flash down is not necessarily the player who is most likely to meet him in the finals, and that applies not only to Soulkey, but a whole plethora of players who had fair to middling performances versus Flash in recent months.

I had no doubts that he is capable of such perfect play and finally its the Soulkey i wanted to see. The main difference i see between WEGL and ASL was his psychical state. In the series he lost against Hero he seemed to be very nervious and under pressure he did some unadequate attacks that just lost him 2 games for sure. However in WEGL he was like reborn, calm and steady all the way. When i watch him i get the impression as if its Flash in zerg shoes, unshakable with the strongest long game macro style.

Both are extremely streamlined in their execution, and have some of the cleanest screeen-switching out of any players (which sadly doesn't get represented in eAPM), which explains the incredible multi-tasking Soulkey is in posession of despite not having eye-popping eAPM figures in general. Comparatively, herO tends to be fast (in raw actions per minute sense), and macroes units from hatcheries ceaselessly better than almost any player I've seen, but is lacking somewhat in terms of rapid screeen-switching. Perhaps it is a trait seen in players with players known for their efficient multi-tasking, Rain being another example. It seems to come from speed of thought, rather than being a raw dexterity issue. sAviOr during his prime was another one who was noted for his efficient screen management, which allowed him to multi-task quite proficiently as long as his speed of thought surpassed his opponents. Especially in match-ups he is great at, Soulkey puts incredible emphasis on having the right units in the right place, which allows him to skimp on units comparatively speaking, and his excellent screen management allows him to navigate through the match with incredible efficiency that is somewhat reminiscent of Flash. Soulkey's games in general can be noted for their excellent overlord coverage throughout the map, and almost never having moments a defiler was missing in action in a key positions.

Larva and Soulkey sigh... nope, Soulkey lost to a superior opponent, that's all there is to it. Hero deserved to be in the finals and did far better than many anticipated and gave him credit for. Soulkey would've gotten rocked in the finals if he faced Flash as well. His wins last ASL were from a 4 pool on Camelot and beating Flash's SK Terran on Andromeda, not from straight up macro games where Flash went for the notorious mech switch.

People need to stop fixating on the ASL results for everything. But if you want to keep going with tournaments, soulkey just beat flash 2-0 in the wegl and also beat flash in a straight up macro game in the ace match of the finals in the team league thing they had a little while ago. Soulkey definitely would have fared much better than hero, no doubt about it. Though, you can say hero is superior in zvz, that's fine because it's probably true.
