The KSL is back and better than ever! After our initial amazing success with the 2012 Opening Ceremonies, we’ve decided to completely revamp the KSL format! Starting Saturday, February 11th, we’ll be entering a Round-Robin League Format, featuring the 7 teams in the KSL: Prime, Incredible Miracle, FXOpen, Most Valuable Player, ZeNEX, NewStar HoSeo, and StarTale. Unfortunately, in light of recent events, Old Generations has withdrawn from participation in the KSL. As such the Round Robin tournament will now feature a new 8th team.
We at the KSL are proud to announce the addition of FnaticRaidCall as the 8th team for the KSL. Fnatic has recently made big waves in the scene acquiring not only Warcraft 3 Legend FnaticRCMoon, but also current GSL Code S competitor FnaticRCaLive. Fnatic currently maintains a strong presence in Korea, with the majority of their players currently there for training and GSL participation. Fnatics current roster will all be participating in the KSL:
ToD
NightEnD
aLive
Moon
Rain
DeParture
SON
Fnatic's SC2 Division Manager Elroy Pinto had this to say about their involvement in the KSL:
Furthermore, the KSL will be one of the first opportunities to seen the newly revamped Fnatic Korean Academy players in action. The two new Fnatic recruits, DeParture and SON, may prove to be hidden weapons for the Fnatic team.
Fnatic's first KSL match will be Sunday, Feb 19 2:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) against the Team League powerhouse MvP. You won't want to miss a minute of the action as Fnatic puts it's players to the test against the toughest Korean teams around.
The KSL will also be utilizing a $9 Monthly HD Premium Subscription fee, in order to provide additional support for the Korean Teams participating. The League will run on Saturdays and Sundays, at the regular KSL time. (23:00 KST) [Dates subject to change depending on GSL schedule.] Over the next few weekends, these top Korean teams will battle it out for an increased prize pool, showing possibilities and matchups that this GSTL season might not be able to provide!
For every win a team earns, they will win a prize of $200. After the round robin matches complete, the Top 5 teams will be eligible for the playoffs. The 5th place team will pit themselves against the 4th place team. The winner of the 4th/5th place team match will face off against the 3rd place team. The winner of the 3rd/4th place match will move on to face the 2nd place team, and like before, the winner of that will advance to the finals to play the 1st place ranked team. The winning team in the finals will earn themselves $5000, with the second place team taking home $2000. As such, not only does every match count for prize money, but also for league standing, where first overall in the league guarantees your team $2000. Like before, all matches will be Best of 11, giving teams a chance to show off not only their top players, but also their hidden talent that isn’t seen in the GSL.
The map pool will use the following maps:
GSL Daybreak
GSL Dual Sight
GSL Antiga Shipyard
GSL Crossfire 1.1 SE
GSL Bel’Shir Beach Winter
GSL Metropolis
ESV Cloud Kingdom
GSL Entombed Valley
Our first broadcast week will start Saturday, February 11th and 23:00 KST with Incredible Miracle facing off against ZeNEX. The next day, Sunday, February 12th at the same time, FXOpen will clash with NewStar HoSeo.

Fnatic's SC2 Division Manager Elroy Pinto had this to say about their involvement in the KSL:
This will be no doubt one of the most competitive team leagues that we have taken part in and I would like to thank the KSL admins for giving us this opportunity to take on some of the best teams that Korea has to offer. I speak for my entire team when I say that we're more than willing to go the distance in this team league. There might be some concerns on the size of our roster but needless to say that will not be an issue for us. Lastly I ask everyone to cheer for FnaticRaidCall in the weeks to come!

They [DeParture and SON] have been training hard and we want them to compete in as many tournaments as possible. We really believe in them, I know at times they might seem overshadowed but they are as much a part of the team as the main line-up.
