I've been wanting to do this since Day9tv was on USTREAM but I didn't really have enough time with work and all. Now that we're in the holidays I hunkered down and started coding away to bring you my Christmas present:
mIRC: Twitch.TV Edition
Hopefully this will help all you broadcasters and especially moderators get your hands dirty and take care of your chat with the best of your abilities with the help of some of my abilities.
I've tried to make connecting to and managing your channel as easy as it can be with my help.
I've also included a couple scripts that, until now, were proprietary to the Day9 Daily: the next daily countdown script, and the chat voting poll.
Hopefully you'll find this useful and from all of us at Day9tv,
In addition to installing mirc, run it once ---> open regedit ---> find mirc folder ---> uncheck full control/read/write on all accounts on the computer. It'll make it smooth every time you open mirc. Maybe it's just placebo. ( You can always switch it back if you didn't like it. ) Works best if you installed it the first time or you wiped out every trace of mirc before doing this again.
Current Playing Song LastFM script for mIrc here: http://privatepaste.com/1edfae87ee How to install: Step 1: Get into your irc channel etc. Step 2: Press Alt+R to bring up the script window. Step 3: Make a new script. Step 4: Paste the code into the new script (in the Remote tab). Step 5: Go back to your channel and write /load -rs <script filename>, E.G /load -rs script1.mrc Step 6: Write !song and follow instructions
One question though: Why mIRC? It costs $20 and there are other, highly-scriptable counterparts (like Irssi) that are free and quite often even better in many ways. But I guess people don't know about some awesome stuff like Bitlbee which allows you to have your IM inside IRC instead of launching this bloated and annoying communicators.
