I don't think MarineKing is better than Polt(not recently), but he was in the finals 3 times against two players who are to this day the by far best players in world. Anyway a bit sad Polt left Prime, I always thought the members were pretty loyal to their team especially since the interview about MarineKing being able to join IM when he was at his best. I just hope he doesn't join SlayerS and gets a good overall team. Well, I'll have to agree with you on that I suppose. MarineKing has been more consistent, though he has been slumping pretty hard up until recently. Overall I hate to compare both of them, as both are obviously the best and ace players on Prime. And I have to also agree with the Slayers statement, please for the love of god don't join Slayers. There's nothing wrong with Slayers, but they've been recently acquiring new talents (Puzzle and Coca) and their Terran lineup is already very strong.

Maybe not in the past when he was in school, but for the past few months? Definitely. His results lately have been consistently great minus July, where he ran into Bomber in the Ro16. MKP meanwhile has a Ro4 in the ST (getting knocked out by MMA who got easily 4-0'd by Polt), Ro32 in Code S, and second in Code A? One gold beats multiple silvers. Polt's shown he has what it takes to get 1st. MKP, not so much in the GSL What MKP has shown is that he can have deep runs in non-Code S tournaments (e.g. WC, ST, Code A), but since January, MKP's never been able to get out of the group stages. Polt plays a similar style to MKP, but I'd say he's overall a better player because a.) he has the mental toughness required to be a champion (i.e. he doesn't choke), and b.) he has a better TvP and TvT.

There's not a lot of difference between #1 and #2, you're both in the finals and even though #1 is better.. getting there 3 times shows you can become #1(even if you lose to the then best TvTer in the world and barely lose to the best Zerg in the world). Not that it was a fluke run like many other finalists. Anyway this thread isn't about MarineKing so I'll leave it at that.

No, MKP hasn't shown he can have deep runs in Code S minus the first Code S tournament where he got second to MVP. Past January, he has never gotten out of a Code S group stage. This is fact. I am not making this up, and you can check Liquipedia for his record. All MKP has shown is that he can get 2nd in non-Code S GSL tournaments for the most part. Polt has meanwhile shown that he can actually win a non-Code S GSL tournament and also consistently make it out of the Code S group stages. MKP has been in a slump for the past few months and is still recovering his form; this is not a secret. A Polt-who-is-on-fire (i.e. Optimus) > a slumping MKP. I don't know how anyone could dispute that. In any case, I hope Polt finishes up his studies in good time and with good scores (good enough to exempt him from military service? ) and gets picked up by a strong team that can help him brush up on his macro. Hopefully not SlayerS, because some diversity would be nice.

Wonder what his future plans are going to be. Focusing on finishing Uni would be smart, then I wonder if he's going to be gunning for a good salary.

Maybe he'll start his own team and call it "Decepticons". That would be fun.
