A new thread to talk about whatever you want to talk about from now until the start of the 09-10 season.

The NBA... "Where the LA Clippers find a way to screw up their lottery pick again" happens. Hopefully not but I really feel bad for this franchise.

Other than that, althought it isn't 2010, it's still an interesting offseason concerning free agencies.

Most improved teams: Thunder, Bulls (although they did plenty well for themselves this year), Warriors, Wizards

Biggest drop off: Celtics

I highly doubt LA will repeat... they can't keep Bynum, Gasol, and Odom. I think they are going to get rid of Odom personally.

Apparently Odom is willing to take a paycut; we'll see. But don't forget to add Ariza to that list; he's coming off a great run in the playoffs and will most certainly be asking for more money.

It's just a hunch. The Warriors are one of the most vastly under performing teams in the league. They are literally loaded with young talent but yet no one gets consistent playing time and they have no chemistry.

Beidrins and Ellis missed a large part of the season with injuries, and Stephen Jackson played 40+ minutes a game every game THROUGH injuries. As a result, Crazy Don Nelson experimented with ridiculous rotations.

With Ellis, Biedrins, and Jackson healthy again, their rotation will revert back to normal. Ellis will run the point again, which will shift SJax back over to his natural position at SG. Maggette is as solid a 6 man as you can find in the NBA as far as scoring threats go (Jason Terry aside). Biedrins was having a break out year, improving in every single category but he still gets too many fouls too quickly and the same goes for Turiaf. If they can develop their raw players games a little, I feel like they are going to have pretty good team. Also, play defense lol.

I know I know, but IF it happens the misery of Detroit would be SO FUN TO WATCH!

About Golden State: They have lots of young talent but bad management, which means they are wasting it. Monta Ellis is still a bit overrated and needs to mature his game. Stephen Jackson = a fucking monster on the court. He's very overlooked because he always plays for bad coaches or bad teams. Biedrins is solid. Everyone else, except Jamal Crawford because he is always screwed is an iffy case for considering playoff bound talent.

Maggettee falls into the Ben Gordon trap - shoot first, never ask questions about if they should stop shooting.

Odom previously stating that he is willing to take a pay cut, the expectation that many teams will be reluctant to spend money this summer because of the economy, the leftover good will from being on a championship team, and maybe even Kobe opting out and taking less money (slim to none, but still worth pondering), gives LA some hope in retaining this group.

This is where your prediction goes horribly wrong.

Anyways, it's too early to predict anything because of the draft/FA signings. Except that the Warriors and Clippers will suck. We can predict that.

Detroit is already miserable Ace. Geez you're a harsh guy for wanting to see Detroit and their fans go through even more heartache

And yeah... With the current outlook, I would put my money on the fact that the Warriors and Clippers are going to continue to suck next year. Especially because they're in the west.

I'm pretty sure Jerry Buss will spend big $$ to keep the team intact and try to add pieces if possible. Odom would take a paycut, and I doubt Ariza is the type of guy to be like "I WANT A MAX DEAL" !! There will be few teams willing to dish out big money, and there are far better players who will warrant that money for the teams that are willing to spend (Dallas) to not really put a huge stock into acquiring a guy like Ariza by overpaying him
