My home PC died last monday so I've been having troubles getting online (Uni Library only) so few time on IRC to harvest my the pretties produced by my permanently wayward flock. So people on IRC don't feel shy to quote it when someone makes a good pun or entertains the public by ways of total retardedness! <3

Some one said a Teamliquid purge? These early blogs, by one of our better mods, might just serve you well. They are also entertaining in themselves. Make note though, that times have changed since these blogs. While most of the advice still holds true today if you're Teamliquid regular, if you are new at posting some just might not.
So if you have not posted an Opening Post (OP) or you are still not logged, and since life is all about challenges now is the perfect time to make an OP. Practical Korean 5: "Excuse me" in a restaurant/bar

I'm not Korean. I have no Korean blood. I cannot speak Korean fluently. In fact I've only been in Korea for 3 months. So don't go apeshit if I use a ㅔ instead of ㅐ or I offend anyone's acute nationalistic feelings. Rest assured though that I will not teach anything without being 100% that it's right.
Note on Romanization:
(Romanization is where the Korean is phonetically translated into English)
I hate Romanization and I strongly suggest any serious learners of Korean not to use it. It's just for the newbies. The problem with it is that different English speakers will pronounce the syllables differently and on an international forum like this, it's impossible for me to be accurate with it. There are different variations of Romanization and below I do my own version.

The following are to be used when you want to get the attention of the serving staff. There are basically two ways of doing this. Both are identical.
저기요! (jeoh-gi-yo!)
Extra Tip: Don't over do the 'j' sound (that's a different letter). Think of the 'ㅈ' as a halfway house between 'j' and 'ch'. (As dumb as that may sound, I'm serious.)
여기요! (yeoh-gi-yo!)
In many restaurants/bars, your table will have a little button which you can use to get the attention of a waiter. So, check to see if there's one before you scream your lungs out.

저기 = there
여기 = here
요 = polite ending
A bit strange how 'there' and 'here' words can both mean the same thing. But that's how it is.
I always presumed 저기요 derived from 'Hey, you over there!' whereas '여기요' derived from 'Hey, look at me, over here!'

7. Cover pot with a lid of self-imposed cynicism to protect yourself from real-life.
8. Pour over a plate of transparency and serve.
