EVER OSL 2008

EVER OSL 2008 will start on the 16th of April. Ongamenet has decided to simplify their system a little bit, since fans often were confused about how the system actually works. I am actually not 100% sure how the old system worked so I can't tell you exactly what changed, but the new system is plain and simple:

OSL is divided into two rounds. The 4 players seeded from last season will automatically qualify for the final round. The 24 players who qualified from OSC will face off in the ODT, which marks the first round. 12 players will advance from the first round (ODT) and join up with the 4 seeds to make it 16 players for the final round.

OSL Map pool will be: Hwarangdo (new OSL map), Troy, Andromeda and Othello.

Poor OGN, either EVER want to become the new Shinhan or that EVER is the only company interested in sponsoring OSL's these days.

yeah Hwarangdo looks nothing like, well, anything we've seen recently

and it looks like we're getting a crapton of games on it right off. hopefully it's balanced well...

jaedong vs casy could be pretty awesome if Casy pulls something off *crosses fingers* nuke rush gogogo :D

Glad to see everything is getting ready to start up again. I also like this new system they are using, it definitely is much easier to comprehend compared to the old system. The map pool looks kind of weak in my opinion, but at least its something new. I'm not sure I like all the small chokes on Hwaragando, but we'll see how it plays out. Anyway, can't wait for some games to actually start up!

I think that some of the more "innovative" maps will be super imbalanced causing a bad OSL. I think that Jaedong and Lux will have to give up games on Hwanrangdo b/c they don't have early game mutas to dominate.

I say Stork or Flash to take it all.
