Short videos of StarCraft players doing funny things.
When do they happen?
Every day whenever a StarCraft stream is on, funny moments happen, and they often get clipped.
Purpose of this thread
To not clog up the BW General Discussion thread.
Also, while TL.net focuses on reporting player gameplay, it has not done an adequate job showcasing the personalities of StarCraft players. Seeing your favorite StarCraft player in a funny video can give you new insights into their personalities. Or help you learn about a new player you've never heard of but you want to learn more because you saw her play in a StarCraft University match.
If you find a video that's so funny and historic (many upvotes on Fmkorea), I can add it here so you can easily access them for future use. It's very frustrating to lose a funny video, and you can't search it up because you can't write Korean.
Sijosae often gets very mad and takes his shirt off whenever he sees one of the JSA students performing poorly, like that one time when he witnessed the 6-tank Stasis during K-Jungman lol: https://vod.sooplive.com/player/204949883?change_second=20445
Kiring is a very talented (77.8% win rate in University Leagues) Tier 4 Protoss player in New Catsle University: https://eloboard.com/players/663
Kiring suffers a lot of anxiety whenever she plays StarCraft, and she is super down on herself whenever she loses. She's still in a bad mood because she lost during the recent K-Jungman finals against K-University's Lingo, and Kiring blames herself for her team falling short in the finals, as seen in this behind-the-scenes documentary:
So during the recent New Catsle MT Retreat (kinda like a field trip school event for teams to bond together after a major tournament), people thought, "Oh, this would be a great opportunity to make Kiring feel better!" "Let's have Kiring play in a water bucket race!" "Surely, nothing will go wrong here, right?" :D
Didn't really work. Kiring must have thought, "I'M DOING SUCH A BAD JOB AGAIN! " xD
while i appreciate you going ahead making a new thread, there's absolutely no need to be snarky with what was a more than reasonable request from both myself and jealous
And it did not go well for SSG! But the funniest part of this story is this: despite losing 0-6 to BB University, SSG actually started ahead in several of those 6 games. It was essentially: game starts, SSG player gets ahead, Mong says "we're gonna get our first win!", BB player makes a comeback, SSG loses, rinse and repeat. It was a very crazy 6-game series, and the energy on BBangHun's stream was really enjoyable. Go watch all 6 games here:
This is a custom map called Random Ability, and it's so popular that even the guys in Proleague were playing it a few weeks back.
The poor victim you see in the video is Zoe, one of our newest StarCraft players we have in 2026 (she's age 27). She started playing StarCraft in August 2024, and in two years she climbed from Baby Tier to Tier 5. In fact, out of all the Youth Players we have right now, only two players have reached Tier 5 (the current highest record):
Cheol-gu, the godfather of the South Korean StarCraft scene, is about to make a comeback. He ran C9 Star University and was the streamer with the most viewers. But he suspended his broadcasts after causing several controversies. What he said really hits at the core of the StarCraft scene.
In South Korea, there are many female star streamers. They came onto the Star scene chasing more revenue and viewers. Most of them belong to Star University. They play matches according to schedules, and the matches are funded by fans’ support. In games with a lot of money on the line, winners and losers are decided, and these young girls sometimes take on roles like gladiators in the Colosseum.
Shuttle also feels a lot of pressure. His university has been on a losing streak and has lost a lot of sponsorship money. He shouts at the fans to just trust him this one time.
What happens if the losing streak continues?
Their university will see its sponsorship decrease and will eventually have to close down.
ActioN used to be very depressed, and he almost quit the game:
Then ActioN turned his life around after joining JSA University: Sijosae's always bringing ActioN on stream whenever possible, ActioN's been having fun coaching all the girl Zergs in JSA, and you can really see the change in ActioN's demeanor over time.
