EPTCamp Starcraft will be held in a small city north of Kansas City, Missouri, and will last for six days, from Friday, August 1 to Thursday, August 7. We will only be accepting 8 people for the first Camp Starcraft, as we currently do not have room to accept more. But do not fret, kids, Camp Starcraft is a tradition that will continue.
The Camp will include the following:
*The House: the Camp House contains beds for all campers, a room filled with one computer for every counselor and camper, a living room with couch, TV, DVD player, etc., and a fully stocked kitchen. The house is also conveniently located in 2 minutes driving distance from a Wendy's, McDonald's, Sonic's, and Fazoli's, and mere steps from a 24 hour gas station.
*Field Trips: After orientation, campers will be treated to a field trip to see American Wedding at a wonderful AMC MoviePlex in North Kansas City. There will also be an end of camp celebration at a nearby Applebee's at lunch time on Thursday.
*Hand's On Instruction: It's the personal goal of both myself and Rekrul, as camp counselors, to ensure the exponential improvement as far as Starcraft is considered for all of the campers. Demonstration games will be played between us, then campers will be able to ask questions and get advice while duplicating and learning. Worksheets will be given out to help the learning process, but completion is not mandatory.
*"OGN Theatre". High Quality VCD's of the last two Starleagues will be shown on a nightly, scheduled basis. Both Rekrul and Myself will give commentary in place of the Korean commentary, which we promise will be insightful as well as humourous. In addition, miscellaneous VODs of normal quality have been burned to VCD format and will be available for anyone to watch in the living room during free hours.
*And of course, non-stop bombastic Brood War action, concluding in an 8 man tournament for all the campers with a winner-take-only prize of 250$
As I said, we are now taking applications. If you would like an application, list your email under this thread and we will send you one in PDF format within 2 days, which you can fax back and later arrange payment. Cost of Starcraft camp will be 750$ US, and you will be responsible for obtaining your own fare to MCI, (Kansas City International Airport) to arrive before 2 P.M. Aug 1. (arrivals the night prior will be accepted) and departing no later than 5PM Aug 7. International applicants are not only accepted but encouraged -- Rekrul and I will pick and choose the 8 campers trying to get as diverse a group as possible, to promote international unity among Brood War players. However, international applicants must demonstrate a good grasp for the English language or they will not be accepted.
