삼성전자 박성준은 신한은행과 궁합(?)이 좋다. 시즌1에서 6위, 시즌2에서 5위를 기록했다. 시즌3에서도 기세좋게 승리를 거뒀다. 16강 첫 경기를 잡아내며 8강 진출에 유리한 고지를 점했다. 최근 들어 화끈한 공격을 선보이고 있는 박성준은 다양한 스타일로의 변화를 꾀하고 있다.

▶First of all, I am happy I was able to revenge (Jin) Youngsoo for his comment on the day of group decision. I will win the next match with this heightened mood.
-알카노이드에서 빌드를 정하기 힘들었을텐데.
-You must have had difficulties in deciding what build to use in Alkanoid.
▶예전에 자주 사용됐던 전략인데 최근에는 많이 쓰이지 않는다. 테란의 최근 추세가 더블 커맨드라서 이 전략을 특별히 준비했다. 이번 전략의 콘셉트도 올인이다. 1회용 전략이다 보니 연습 상대마다 첫 경기는 다 이겼다. 그런데 하면 할수록 승률이 낮아지더라.
▶This build was often used in the past, but seldom recently. Since Terran's current trend is to go double command center, I specially prepared for this build. This build's concept is, all-in. It is a one time build, and whomever my practice partner was, I won all the first matches. But as practice games went on, the winning percentile became poorer.
-올인성 플레이를 특히 좋아하는 것 같다.
-You seem to specially favor all-in plays.
▶테란전 승률이 낮아진 이유를 분석해봤다. 내 스타일이 너무 노출된 것이 원인이었다. 주로 운영으로 풀어나가다 보니 테란들이 처음부터 중후반을 도모하더라. 허를 찌르는 올인성 플레이가 오히려 승률이 더 좋았다. 다양한 스타일로 경기를 펼치려고 하고 있다. 나와 경기하는 테란들은 초반을 조심해야할 것이다.
▶I sat down, and analyzed why my winning percentile vs Terran became so low. My playstyle was much too widely exposed. Having coordinated my games with focusing on late-mid games most of the time, Terran set their minds from the very start on also, coordinating theirs for mid-late game. The percentile was higher in all-in plays, thrusting the unexpected opponents. I am trying to perfor y games with many different playstyles. Any Terran facing me should take all caution the minute game starts.
-24강에서 진영수에게 패한 것이 부담되지 않았나.
-Were you not pressured that you lost to Jin Youngsoo in round of 24.
▶당시에는 이 맵에서 졌지만 오늘도 내가 진다고는 생각하지 않았다. 전적이 뒤지더라도 마인드 컨트롤로 풀어나가려고 노력한다. 자신감을 가지기 위해 자기 암시를 자주 건다. 다음 경기도 자신있게 준비하겠다.
▶At the time, I was defeated on this very map, but never once I thought I'd lose again today. Despite the unfavorable record, I try to untie(the complications) with mind control. I often say to myself in a form of self-hypnosis to have more confidence. I will also prepare my next match with confidence.

▶요새 맵 중에서 테란을 상대로 가장 자신있는 맵이 히치하이커다 열심히 준비해서 꼭 2대0으로 만들겠다.
▶The map, I have the most confidence against Terran among the current maps, is Hitchhiker. I will make the score 2:0 with much practice.
-시즌1에서 6위, 시즌2에서 5위를 기록했다. 시즌3에서 목표는 어떤가.
-You were sixth in Season 1, fifth in Season 2. What is your goal in Season 3.
▶일단 4강 진출이 목표다. 4강에 진출하면 당연히 목표가 상향 조정될 것이다. 1차 목표는 4강이다.
▶Advancing to semifinals is my first goal. If I do advance, then of course my goal will be raised accordingly. My first goal is semifinals.

과연 김준영은 쉬운 상대가 아니었다. 이성은은 초반부터 뮤탈리스크에 휘둘리며 힘들게 출발했다. 정신없는 몰아치기에도 이성은은 희망을 버리지 않고 차근히 병력을 모았다. 테란의 강력함을 극대화한 것이 승리의 요인이다.
Without a doubt, Kim Junyoung was not an easy foe. Lee Sungeun started off suffering from Mutalisks from the beginning. Amidst vicious attacks from every direction, he did not give up hope and mustered his forces steadily. His reason for victory was maximizing the power of Terran units.
-16강 첫 승이다.
-This is your first win in round of 16.
▶아직까지는 내 기록 중에서 가장 좋은 성적이다. 저번에는 16강에서 2패로 탈락했다. 조금씩 내 기록을 경신해가고 있다는 것, 그리고 그 기록이 현재 진행형이라는 게 좋다. 오늘은 예전에 우리 팀에 몸담았던 피파의 김수영 선수 생일이다. 이기면 생일 축하한다고 소감에서 말하기로 했다(웃음).
▶This is my personal best until now. Last time I was eliminated in round of 16 with 2 losses. I like that I am setting new records for myself, and that record is still running alive. Today is the birthday of Kim Sooyoung, a Fifa player who were in the team before. I promised him I'd say happy birthday if I won(smile).
-어렵게 승리를 거뒀다.
-You won with much hardships.
▶시작 빌드부터 내가 굉장히 불리했다. 내 빌드는 투 해처리 뮤탈리스크에 흔들리는 빌드인데, 예상대로 많이 흔들리고 힘들었다. 그런데 상대 러커와 하이브가 굉장히 늦길래 언제든지 한방이 갖춰지면 역전 가능성이 있다고 생각했다.
▶From the starting build orders, I was in a disadvantage. My build is one that will suffer a lot from two hatchery mutalisks, and as I predicted, I was shaken up a lot, suffered greatly. But seeing that the opponent's Hive and lurkers were very delayed, I thought I can win whenever my big bang forces are mustered.
-저그 앞마당에서 한 번의 교전이 승부를 갈랐다.
-The one battle in front of the Zerg frontyard expansion set the game's outcome.
▶상대의 실수가 가장 컸다. 병력이 러커 따로 뮤탈리스크 따로 왔기 때문에 딱히 컨트롤을 할 필요는 없었다. 사실 내가 두번째 멀티를 가져갈 때도 저그가 계속 레어였기 때문에 상대가 계속 공격을 온다. 그 교전에서 승리하면서 이길 수 있겠다는 생각이 들었다.
▶The opponent made a horrible mistake. I did not need to perform any particular unit controls because the lurkers headed in, and then the mutalisks. Since Zerg was in Lair up until the time I tried my second expansion, the opponent had no choice but to continuously attack. I thought I could win if I win that battle.
-안경을 새로 바꿨는데.
-You have a new pair of glasses.
▶예전에 쓰던 안경보다 편하다. 그래서 마음에 든다.
▶It is more comfortable than the last one. I like it so.
-알카노이드에서 경기한다.
-You will be playing in Alkanoid.
▶아직까지는 오늘 경기를 준비하느라 많이 생각하지는 못했다. 오늘 성준이형이 보여줬듯이 알카노이드에서 테란이 더블 커맨드를 하면 저그들이 너무 대처를 잘 하기 때문에 성공시켜도 이기기 어렵다. 다른 관점에서 맵을 이해해야 할 것 같다. 김준영 선수가 알카노이드에서는 너무너무 잘하고 테란 빌드 선택 힘든 맵이기 때문에 어려운 게임이 될 지도 모르지만 일주일이나 남았으니 최대한 열심히 노력하는 것밖에 없다.
▶I was not able to give much thought on that, occupied with preparing today's match. Just like how (Park) Sungjoon hyung showed us today, Zerg are fully prepared to counter Terran's double command center, so a successful double is hard to manage. I need to analyze the map from a different perspective. Since Kim Junyoung is just too good in Alkanoid, and Terran's build choice is hard to pick, it may be a difficult game; nonetheless, I have one week to prepare for it, and there is nothing else I can do except to try my best.

천재의 경기에는 특별한 것이 있었다. 과거에는 종종 보였지만 요새 테란 대 테란전에는 좀처럼 선보이지 않는 투 배럭 전략으로 신희승의 허를 완벽히 찔렀다. 24강을 시작할 때까지만 해도 슬럼프 의혹을 받았지만 테란전에서 연승하며 기세가 완벽히 살아났다.
There is something special in a Prodigy's play. Lee Yoonyeol played perfectly and stabbed Shin Huiseung in the back with two barracks; a build not often chosen as opposed to in the past where it was performed from time to time.
-승리 소감은.
-Your words on your win.
▶지금도 너무 떨린다. 전략이 너무 극단적이기 때문에 많이 떨렸다. 아직도 그 떨림이 남아있다. SCV 정찰이 오지 않기를 정말 속으로 많이 빌었다.
▶I am still shaken up. I was very nervous because it was such an extreme build. I still have that leftover shiver. I prayed that he would not send an SCV scout.
-전략적인 승부를 걸었다.
-You waged everything with one strategical decision.
▶연습 때 승률이 엄청 좋았다. 그래서 사용한 것이었지만 극단적이기 때문에 망설였다. 원래 준비한 전략은 따로 있었지만 이틀 전에 바꿨다. 내가 신희승 선수라면 이런 전략을 쓸 거 같다는 생각에 만들어본 전략이다. 연습해보니 전략이 너무 좋더라. 전략에는 전략으로 승부해야겠다는 생각이 들었다. 신희승 선수가 예상하지 못할 것 같았다.
▶The winning ratio was phenomenal in practice games. So, I did use it after all, but hesitated because it is too extreme. There was a play that I have prepared it originally, but changed it two days ago. I came up with this build thinking that if I were Shin Huiseung, he'd use such build. As the practice games piled up, the build was terrific. I came to conclusion I should go head to head with the mind games. I thought he wouldn't be expecting this.
-300승 기념 시상식을 경기 전에 했다.
-Your 300th win award ceremony was held before the match.
▶덕분에 경기 전에 나를 설레이게 만들었다(웃음). 안 그래도 떨리는 전략인데 긴장이 되길래 마음을 가라앉히게 만드는데 신경을 집중했다.
▶For that, I was more excited before the match(smile). The build alone already made me very nervous, so I mainly concentrated to calm myself before the match.
-최근 테란전으로 기세가 살아나고 있다.
-You are in an uprising mood with vs Terran.
▶많이 하다보니까 감각이 살아 있다. 16강에서도 테란을 만나고 싶었고 바람대로 신희승 선수가 찍어줘서 좋았다. 하지만 아직은 방심하지 않겠다. 연습해준 우리팀 테란들에게 모두 고맙다고 전하고 싶다. 특히 전태양과도 연습을 많이 했다. 태양이가 이번에 커리지매치를 나가는데, 꼭 땄으면 좋겠다.
▶The senses are very much attuned with many matches I had. I wanted to meet Terran in round of 16, and just as I hoped, I felt good Shin Huiseung chose me. But, I will not be careless. I want to thank all the Terran in my team for practices. Especially, I had many practices with Jun Taeyang(*1). Taeyang is participating in Courage Match this season, I hope he qualifies(for his progamer license).
-다음 경기는 어떻게 대비할 것인가.
-How will you be preparing for the next match.
▶오늘 경기때문에 상대가 이를 갈고 연습할 것 같다. 리버스 템플에서 내 승률 별로 안 좋다. 내가 많이 부족하다고 생각하고 내가 더 많이 준비하겠다. 허무하게 지지않도록, 팬 여러분들게 실망스러운 경기 보여드리지 않도록 최선을 다 하겠다.
▶I think the opponent will prepare the next match with vengeance because of today's match. I am not doing so well in Reverse Temple. I will practice more and more as if I need more than my opponent does. I will do my best not to be the victim of one-sided match, and not to disappoint all the fans.

변형태의 경기는 시원스럽다. 방어만 하고 있는 모습은 찾아보기 어렵다. 같은 종족전에서는 변형태의 이러한 장점이 더욱 빛난다. 어떤 상황에서도 주도권을 놓치지 않기 때문이다. 이번 경기에서도 이병민을 꺾고 2006시즌 테란전 19승7패를 기록했다. 20승 고지가 코앞이다. 1승만 더 추가하면 2006시즌에서 특정 종족을 상대로 가장 많이 승리한 선수가 된다.
Byun Hyungtae's games are swift and cool. It is hard to find him defending in his own base. This playstyle shines bright in same race match up. He never gives up control of the game in any kind of situation. Defeating Lee Byungmin this match, he now has a 19:7 record in 2006 vs Terran. The 20wins is just a step ahead, and one more additional win, he will be the player of the year who won the most matches against one particular race.

-오늘 플레이에서 중점을 둔 것은.
-What did you focus in today's play.
▶최대한 안전하게 하면 이긴다는 생각이었다. 병민이도 안전하게 플레이해서 그냥 경기가 무난하게 흘러갔다. 이상한 것만 안 당하면 이길거라고 생각했다.
▶I thought I'd win as long as I play it out safe. Byungmin also just played out safe, and the game flowed without much happening. I knew I'd win if I don't fall into some kind of weird trap.
-앞경기에서 bbs 전략을 사용한 것 때문에 신경쓰였을 것 같다.
-You must have thoughts crossing your mind, because of the BBS(*2) in the previous match.
▶긴장했다. 병민이가 혹시나 시도하면 어떻게 하나 생각했다. 맨날 대부분 뒷경기다보니 앞에서 내가 쓰려던 전략을 쓰기도 하고 오늘처럼 심리에 많이 영향을 받기도 한다. 이젠 앞경기를 하고 싶다(웃음).
▶I was nervous. I thought about what I should do if by any chance Byungmin uses it. Being placed in later matches, just like today, sometimes I am psychologically affected by the matches ahead, and sometimes my build is used by another player beforehand. I want to perform in the earlier matches for once(smile).
-2006시즌 테란전 20승까지 1승을 남겨뒀다.
-You are one win away from 20wins vs Terran in 2006.
▶20승을 채우면 뭔가 주는 건 없나(웃음). 의의는 크게 두지 않지만 좋은 거니까 좋게 생각하겠다.
▶Am I getting anything if I reach the 20wins quota? I am not thinking much about it, but it's a good thing, so I like it.
-리버스 템플에서 경기한다.
-You'll will be performing in Reverse Temple.
▶무난한 맵이다. 전략 전술이 많은 것 같지는 않다. 병민이의 24강 리버스 템플 경기를 봤는데 이길 수 있을 것 같다. 사실 16강은 눈에 잘 안 들어오고 마음이 앞서가 있다. 마음을 추스르고 방심하지 않고 최선을 다해 2승으로 깔끔하게 8강으로 가겠다.
▶It's a bland map. I do not think there will be many mind games going on. I saw Byungmin's Reverse Temple match in round of 24, and I think I can win. To be honest, I am way ahead of myself not focusing on round of 16. I will tidy up my mind, and not be careless. I will do my best, and advance to the quarterfinals with 2 clean winning swipes.
