HuK Fan Club 2.0: Now With Annual Updates!

The previous "fanclub" hasn't been updated in over a year, and after two months of trying to contact the OP of that fan club I decided to make a new one. HuK's been doing quite well lately and deserves an updated fan club to reflect that. I've updated this one with his latest results, upcoming matches, and his WCS standing as well as adding a few pictures. I'll continue to keep this updated and am open to any suggestion of how to further improve this OP.

Q: Can you beat IdrA in a real game?
Huk's A: I can beat IdrA in a real game...without real units.

HuK, why do you prefer the protoss race over terran or zerg?

HuK: For me they have just what I started with and stuck with. They have so many units with so many abilities, I think they have the most possibilities and are the funnest.

2) McMonty
Protoss is easily the race in SC2 with the least mobility. For example, qxc uses planetary fortresses back on defense while doing drops, to keep an opponent on their heels. As players get even better at this type of fast paced play, how do you see Protoss compensating for their lack of mobility, and lack of harassment options, especially late game when people are on so many bases.

HuK: Short answer will be things like blink stalkers, warp prism (with speed), and other kinds of harassment that hasn't really be utilized or used to its max potentional right now.

3) Meirin
What are your thoughts on the metagame? Are Collossi THE unit to go for vs. Zerg, and are Templar THE unit to go for vs. Terran? Do you see yourself (like TLO) being so creative, you'll change what normal people consider to be "standard"?

HuK: I think that collosi in both matchups are a lot easier to open with and safer, though late game it is almost always better to transition into storm. The problem with storm is that usually you can't safely get as fast as collosi in the beginning and have them as effective. I would hope so. ^^;

Huk, I see you post on TL and follow the community a bit. What do you think of the current Protoss community? Zergs seems to be bound together by being the underdog, Terrans are bound together by being the OP race. Who do you talk to to discuss Protoss play and possible builds which may not have yet been discovered?

HuK: Most top players I talk to every once in awhile, the immediate names that come to mind that I really enjoy talking to and always have great input would be:

5) McMonty
We all know Huk has awesome probe micro, a high APM, and solid build orders, but what would Huk say is his biggest area for improvement?

HuK: Keeping an open mind during games and not really following such a dedicated path tech/unit wise. It's really hard to explain but basically I get to stuck on what is "right" or "wrong" instead of what works and doesn't work.

HuK you and other protosses seem to struggle quite alot against Terrans who abuses drop-play from the start of the game to the very end, it makes going collosi builds very difficult as its a very immobile army.
Have you found better ways to play against drop-play?
Is it viable to go more into HT / phoenix / stalker play vs T at all or do you NEED collosi vs T?
You seem quite fond of them anyway.

HuK: Well most recently its just playing my game and really defending them the best you can without making a lot of mistakes like just being like "fuck it im going to just attack because it takes to long for my army to get back". Being patient and taking it to long game is most scenarios is honestly the best decision. Definitely viable, you don't ever really NEED collosi but it is a lot easier then other variations.

What forms of harass other than Blink Stalker and Phoenix do you believe will be more widely used? (Warp-In Zealots/Sentry for Ramp, Storm Drops, Proxy Cannons powered by warp prism, etc.)

HuK: All of the above, mainly im looking forward to storm drops and immortal drops I would say.

What is your practice regimen like? Do you watch a lot of replays/VOD's, ladder a ton, spend a lot of time in zen-like meditation crafting your strategies or something else?

HuK: I usually watch replays of other players and my own if I can't think of any major mistakes I did or it was a really good game. Obviously I ladder a lot, and I do my version of zen-like meditation in the shower (take a lot a showers per day).
