EPTAccording to a report in Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), North Korean officials has issued a threat that Japan is its primary target for its nuclear weapons. Whereas previously governments were simply downplaying North Korea's threats, the posture and the atmosphere now has dramatically intensified as Kim Jong Un promised to launch the nuclear strike any moment now.
Speculation is that the strike will coincide with Kim Jong Un's first anniversary as the Supreme Leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, which he held since 11 April 2012. The entire North Korean government celebrated this even with various cultural and dance parades in the streets of Pyong Yang. Kim rose to the ranks on 30 December 2011 after the Politburo of the Workers' Party of Korea formally appointed hm as the Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army.
Some questions:
1. How will the nominal allies of North Korea, such as China and Russia, react to this?
2. What about the US and the rest of the free world?
3. Why Japan? It would be very tragic granting Japan's history.
4. Finally, is the strike happening sooner than anyone thinks?
