How do you feel about making it to the finals?
Back in 2006, I debuted as a pro gamer through ProLeague. And during those seven years, the highest position I had ever achieved in my individual results was the Ro24. I was already happy that I had made it to the Ro16 of this season's Code S, but I am so happy right now because I was able to make it to the finals. I want to keep on riding this momentum and win the championship.
Did you not know about the proxy two rax build in game one?
By the time I had find out about it, it was too late for me to do anything about it. I normally scout thoroughly for my TvZs but I did not think about the possibility of proxy raxes for game one. I wasn't in a bad situation or anything but after I suffered damage because of that attack, I hadn't practiced for that kind of scenario so I didn't know what to do afterwards. Which is why I lost.
What was the secret to you being able to win three games in a row afterwards?
I just decided to forget about game one because it was just a build order loss. The maps were really good for me after game one so I had confidence. I think I was able to play comfortably cause I viewed it as a new starting line.
How do you feel about a ZvZ finals?
I think it sucks. ZvZs are really boring and mirror matches bore me. I also think that if Zergs keep on winning like this, we're going to get nerfed so it's not good for us. We already have enough pressure on us because of all the whining Protoss players are saying to the press. Personally, I do think that Zergs have the advantage for ZvTs but ZvPs are 50/50.
Nowadays, what is the standard these days for ZvZs?
I think it's all about mutalisks. Feels like more and more Zergs are using mutas these days. Even the ZvZs that went on for IPL, I saw a ton of mutalisks being used.
The maps have been released for the finals. How do you feel about the contest?
If it was a bo5 I think there would be a contest but since this is a bo7, I don't think there will be a contest. Instead, I think it's going to be a battle of stamina.
What kind of score are you expecting?
I feel like I'm going to 4-0 this but I still want to have fun games. But even if we do produce good games, I doubt we're going to be able to put on a good performance for the audience since it's a ZvZ (laughs). I'm pretty sure that even the professional players in Korea, aside from my teammates, will not be watching the finals.
You have a chance to become the oldest royal roader.
I think that's a great thing. I really want to achieve it. I want to achieve the dream that NesTea hyung was never able to achieve. I feel good because it will be my own title and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity so I do not want to miss it. And I also really want that excalibur sword that Life earned. I want to swing it around at the team house once I get it (laughs).
Are you feeling any pressure from having to play in the finals a day right after the semi finals?
I am strong in this kind of area. I really like fast paced matches and improvisations. This is not that bad for me.
Would you like to comment for the finals?
I finally have a chance that I was never able to get for the longest time in my pro gaming career. I will grab this season's GSL championship and grab the oldest royal roader title. The GSL Tour Finals is coming up and if I can grab the championship for this season's GSL, then I get a chance to play in that tournament. I want to grab a bunch of rabbits at once.
Anything else you would like to say?
I am an old player so I don't really have that many opportunities ahead of me. But since Sniper is young and has a ton of chances to grab, looks like I'm going to have to take this one.

How do you feel about making it to the finals?
I feel really good. But I am not really happy. I'm just not really feeling it. It's just good. I think I'll really feel something once I grab the championship.
You were looking to be in a great position after grabbing the first two games.
I figured that it was pretty much over. I was actually worrying about winning this too easily. Which is why I ended up letting my guard down and almost allowed a comeback to happen.
How did you feel when the match went all the way to game five?
I felt really anxious. But the map was Daybreak, a map that I practice a ton on on average so I didn't feel like I was going to lose. I felt like as long as he didn't 11-11 me, I had this in the bag.
Ryung stated "IMBA" in the chat right at the last minute.
Terran players are shameless. I know that a lot of people are calling Zerg imba these days but I honestly just think it's an excuse for people with no skills. Regardless of the map or race, the superior player always wins so I just don't understand why they behave that way. I don't even understand why sometimes the winning players start whining.
How do you feel about a ZvZ finals?
I wanted to face Bogus so this end result was disappointing. I don't mind playing ZvZs but I don't think a mirror match finals will be entertaining. I feel worried for the fans.
What is the standard these days for ZvZs?
I think these days, mutalisks are really good. Mutalisks give you a lot of benefits. It works really well when your opponent doesn't expect it, and mutalisks also give you a lot of great edges in good situations.
The maps have been released for the finals. How do you feel about the contest?
We have to play on all seven maps so I don't think there's going to be any influences for ZvZs.
What kind of score are you expecting?
I think I'm going to take it with about a score of 4-1. I can't really explain why, I just feel like it's going to be a 4-1.
Of the four players from the semi finals of Code S, you are the only one still alive in IPL 5. Do you think you can grab both championships?
I think that's going to be impossible. A lot of players are telling me to hurry up and get eliminated from IPL 5 because it's not going to be good for me to expect to win two championships. I don't really feel a greed to win two championships but since I am approaching my tournaments without putting any pressure on myself, I think I'll be able to do it. I don't really want to win two championships, but I do want to play all my matches without feeling any burdens.
Are you feeling any pressure from having to play in the finals a day right after the semi finals?
I am so tired right now. But it is going to be a mirror match so I just need to stick to the basics without really needing to prepare anything special.
Would you like to comment for the finals?
Until last season, my goals were pretty weak. I chose my goal for this season to grab the championship and I think ever since then, my goals have been getting higher and higher so I was able to make it to the finals. I also was able to make it this far because Killer hyung was always giving me great advice. Since I was able to make it to the finals, I will make sure I grab the championship this time.
Anything else you would like to say?
Last time I thanked Killer hyung, I accidentally called him a coach so he received a lot of concerns from all kinds of people. I want to make it clear that Killer hyung is only the team's captain and that he still plans on functioning as a professional gamer. I hope this cleared up any misunderstandings.
