Wresting is not close to being the 4th largest sport in America, but competitive gaming in Korea is (or so you/we assume). Under that pretext, wouldn't competitive gaming be better compared to something like hockey? On the other hand, you could argue that the gap between those 3 top sports in Korea (baseball, soccer, basketball) and the 4th largest sport (competitive gaming) is much bigger than the gap between something like Soccer and Wrestling in America. | ||

A: How hard professional gamers actually work. It is NOT all fun and games, and B:How exhausting it is mentally to play Starcraft at a competitive level. Unlike LoL (*cough*) you pour everything you have into every game. It is really taxing. | ||

If you're looking to give the e-sports culture more exposure from a new source, it's better to make it look like it's already accepted and loved by as many people as possible. Even if they figure out it's hugely false maybe the newly interested person already checked it out by that point and liked it. The average person cares too much about "how many people are into this?" That's something the companies looking to profit need to worry about, like MLG. | ||
