![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/oNnyZ.jpg) StarCraft 2 will have yet another LAN tournament with great prizes in Europe. This time it's The Gathering, Norways largest computerparty.
The worlds second biggest LAN-party, The Gathering, is holding their recordbreaking €13000 tournament from the 4th to 8th of April 2012. The LAN is held at the world known Olympic Ice Skating Hall, Vikingskipet in the town of Hamar. Beside attracting 5200 gamers on the same floor, it is known as the worlds greatest computer-party.
By following the tradition, The Gathering keeps pushing their limits and is including esports heavily in this years schedule. With a total prize pool of over thirteen thousand euro, the tournament is putting Norway back on the e-sports map. This year it's more than honor and glory.
The tournament will be held in the Game:Area with tournament computers delievered by DreamHack, which are very familiar to a lot of proffesional players. The finals will be on the main stage in front of 5000 viewers, and with streaming, the possibilites almost surpass the impossible.
The history of The Gathering goes back to 1992 when it was first held. Last year the Swedish progamer SjoW won in front of his fellow countryman SaSe in the StarCraft 2 tournament. He took home almost €4,000. This year the winner will take home almost double of this prize.
If you would like to apply for an invite, you may PM me (nocR) with details of your progaming history. If you would like to participate in the online qualifiers, you can check out the link below.

Yes that is really sad because many players will have to choose one of the events. I hope we can hold a better event than Copenhagen Games can though. Just some Scandinavian rivalry

There are big lans (gamer's assembly in france/copenhagen games in denmark and/the gathering in norway) all same time with quite big prize pools. So unfortunate overlapping :/
