Hot player hyvaa: “I’ll make the Hyvaa Score a good thing.”

At STX SouL, there’s a thing called the “Hyvaa Score.” It often happened that whenever hyvaa won, the rest of the team would lose, so people called the 1-3 loss a “Hyvaa Score.” Thus even if he won Hyvaa never rested easy. He didn’t get many winner’s interviews, either.
But, in the all-important road to the post-season, Hyvaa closed out his team’s victory and broke the “Hyvaa Score” jinx.
Q: You led the team to victory for the rest time in a while
hyvaa: First of all, it feels good to win. I kept feeling like I was walking on thin ice so I had to push myself. It’s been so long since a winner’s interview it feels awkward to sit down with a reporter (laughs).
Q: Did you plan to play a protoss
hyvaa: For the 5th set, they could only send out a protoss. Since I knew Jaehoon or Tyson would come out I prepared well and was confident. To be honest, I thought we’d win quickly but we fell to 2-0 and I got anxious. Thankfully Calm paved the way to a comeback.
Q: Coming out in the 5th set could be a stressful thing
hyvaa: It’s true. Since the 5th set decides your team’s fate, it’s no different from an ace match. However, if you think of it that way you can’t help but get nervous. I tried my utmost to calm my nerves and lo and behold came out protoss, my most confident matchup, and I was able to play with a clear mind.
Q: But there were moments when you could’ve lost
hyvaa: Honestly, wouldn’t it have been a catastrophe to lose that match? (laughs) The team could’ve slipped into a low ranking, so every time there was a crisis I was determined not to give up. Punishing him with my mutalisk plays was key to the comeback.
Q: When you won but the team lost it was called the “Hyvaa Score.”
hyvaa: If it were that I lost but my team won, I wouldn’t be so frustrated, but since when I won but my team lost, I didn’t know what to feel. It’s a relief to break the curse today and it feels really good that my victory was also the team’s. In the future, I hope the “Hyvaa Score” can mean that when I win the team also wins.
Q: STX zergs were struggling to stay afloat
hyvaa: I feel like we made a lot of mistakes in builds or game management. Our live matches didn’t do justice to our practice skill. There were a lot of times we watched our peers and felt regret. It’s getting better bit by bit, and our results bear that out, so I predict we’ll continue to rise. It only gets more important from here.
Q: How probable is it that STX reaches the post-season
hyvaa: By our skill in practice it’s 100% guaranteed we’ll reach the post-season. However, it’s unfortunate our players can’t yet perform well in live matches. A lot of our players don’t have much experience and get nervous, so if they can relax and show even 70-80% of their skill I think we’ll definitely make it.
Q: Any last words
hyvaa: I’m really glad I won and got to interview. Maybe that’s why it felt like we talked about a lot of stuff today. I’ll do interviews and share interesting stories more often. My play today wasn’t great but I hope everyone will cheer for me so that I can play more entertaining matches in the future.

Everyone, it seems, is Flash level during practice. + Show Spoiler +By contrast, Flash is probably shit during practice. But STX has a surprisingly strong team this season, here's to hoping they make it though.

Well, nerves are a big issue in BW particularly, as very young players are often being put under the spotlight. The fact that there is information assymetry also contributes to the nerves, as you cannot see everything going on, which can trigger panic. I have heard scary things about Flash when he practices...scary things that push the limits of what should be possible.

I dont think thats untrue, there are many replays of b-teamers, amateurs playing amazing matches offline, but without doubt they wouldnt been able to replicate the same play on stage. Thats weird but its true about any competetive esport game, bw a specially i would say.

I am not denying that fact, but everyone takes care to drop that statement in every interview.
