Anyone have an idea why players have to flame after they won a game ? Like you start a game with a nice gl hf and then have a really close game (few buildings for both etc) sometimes even mirror so it cant be the "race imba" thing
so after you lose you write GG WP and leaves the game and then immediatelly there comes a "fuck you noob bastard, you suck hardcore" and instant he is ignoring your msg so you cant respond.
since i am back from inactivity that happened in 3/5 games and it scares me that this is now a "normal" thing
any ideas why guys do such things ?

Because they're mad. Move on.
|
Just ignore them. They're worthless pieces of trash who need to talk shit to others to validate their own existence. If they have you on ignore whilst talking shit they're obviously cowards.
You have the ignore button too. I suggest you use it.
|
I didn't notice this at all... happens quite rarely to me. But I'd say that there's like more of that kind of rage in Plat/Dia league than in any other.
|
Because they feel like it. Bad sample size. Ignore it and move on.
There's really nothing deeper to it than that. If you want to waste some time on a saturday you can draw up a nice freudian explanation for why they're lashing out, but there's not really anything to it beyond they feel like it.
|
I've seen it a lot. Can't say I haven't done the same. Usually only against all'inners who achieve nothing but getting ladder points slightly faster but never improving as a player and..oh god, it's starting again, RUN , RUN WHILE YOU CAN.
|
Ask yourself if it is really important to you and worth your time to discuss the psychology of a few people you met on the ladder.
|
Some people take losses wseriously, blaming themselves for their bad performances. However, some others blame the opponents for being 'out of their league'. Thus the flames. I like them flames :D
|
I am sure you are exagerating
|
People are immature assholes who think it's fun to tease people for losing against them. Just ignore them, there are too many trolls in this world for things to be taken seriously in these kind of situation. I guess what you really should be asking yourself is: "Am I actually being offended by this?". If yes... well then you should stop doing that since there's no point. If no... well then stop worrying about this and keep doing what you're doing.
Edit: The best thing is probably to mirror the damage, everything they're throwing at you will only affect themselves negatively if you can laugh their so-called "insults" off as a joke.
|
They are little kids/teens and want to piss people off. It's as simple as that.
|
It happens often enough, and I always wonder if these people have issues or something.
The thing that gets me is how they put you on ignore, though. If you're gonna start shit, at least man up and take some? It's so cowardly!

"i won some games and they got mad. why did they get mad? PS i won some games" -OP
people get mad when they lose. Starcraft takes a lot more work and understanding to be good at than most games, so the rage that happens when you've failed to understand enough or be good enough is more severe than easier games (read: any FPS or MOBA game or any other RTS game made in the last 3 years)
|
I will admit that I've sort-of done this myself maybe 2 or 3 times when my opponents have been really bm upon their leaving, but even then I'm not being a 12 year old, but rather try to be a little more constructively critical... but when the immature people lose, they just take that as insults as well. Some guys are just hard to talk to...
|
Its not that common, and people only do it because they feel the need to extend their E-Penis. Just ignore them, laugh it away and keep playing =)
|
Yeah I had that happened to me as well. Some people are just..... immature.
Go to ingame Menu and in battle net option click Only friends allowed to send me messages, or something like that. Solved the problem for me

didn't read the op carefully enough did you?
@op tbh, it must be your luck op, been playing since release and it rarely happens, the ones that rage at you when they lose though, they're still rampant on sc2

I've rarely flame, and I don't ever after winning, but if I really had to flame after winning, it would probably be because of Roach spam, the bane of Protoss.
|
Because they don't know about the The Letting Off Steam Thread, here in TL. ^^
On a serious note, since you're just a 'name' in the other side of Bnet, they think that they are able to bash you for nothing to increase their small egos. Because the bigger internet ego you try to get (by treating miserably other people), the smaller the real life ego. They are usually young people with low self-esteem (some are just douches) that the only way they can feel a little better about themselves is in the internet, where they can avoid the consequences of being jerks.
edit- I feel sad about those kind of people but I always have hope that once they mature enough they figure out that they were indeed causing the opposite reaction they intended.
Advice: don't answer any provocations from those people. Ignore them and hit the "Find Match" button.

You should read the OP again...
